RE: [313] the advent - news
g: ... it's rumored that they still work in the studio together. (Advent management confirmed to the list that the tour is just Cisco.) BUT ... 'True Spirit' compilation on Tresor I think it has two Advent tracks + the booklet says something like: "and continue to collaborate on projects" ... If anyone knows, surely Tresor does. k - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [313] the advent - news
think this was already mentioned, but it's very unlikely this is both cisco AND colin. while it's rumored that they still work in the studio together from time to time, this type of travel is (supposedly) exactly why colin left. that, and maybe he was sick of the fact that a lot of people thought he was just the dancer... ;) damn i'd love to see that live g-flame show. - Original Message - From: "Martijn de Blaauw" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <313@hyperreal.org> Sent: Monday, August 19, 2002 2:43 AM Subject: [313] the advent - news > The advent tour > Cisco Ferreira and Colin McBean, also known as G Flame & Mr. G, Soul > Destroyaz and The Subjective are best known as The Advent. RE: [313] the advent - news
Well most excellent news! However, comparing the atmosphere of the 'techno' scene in late-summer 2002 to when the pair (temporarily) disappeared by and large, abt 4 years ago, things have changed a great deal. Especially in London, the hard-driving, teutonic flavoured 4/4 brand which they've got down to a divine art (imho of course ;o) has been superceded but maybe they've changed too hmmm, no Japan dates so far. k >-Original Message- >From: Martijn de Blaauw [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >Sent: Monday, August 19, 2002 10:51 AM >To: Odeluga, Ken; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Org >Subject: RE: [313] the advent - news > > >I thought they had splitbut apparently not! > >Also coming up in october a new mix-cd by Richie Hawtin! > >M. > >-Oorspronkelijk bericht- >Van: Odeluga, Ken [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >Verzonden: maandag 19 augustus 2002 12:32 >Aan: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Org >Onderwerp: RE: [313] the advent - news > > >... & this is definitely the Advent of old with both Cisco *&* Colin? > >k > >>-Original Message- >>From: Martijn de Blaauw [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >>Sent: Monday, August 19, 2002 10:44 AM >>To: 313@hyperreal.org >>Subject: [313] the advent - news >> >> >>The advent tour >>Cisco Ferreira and Colin McBean, also known as G Flame & Mr. G, Soul >>Destroyaz and The Subjective are best known as The Advent. [313] re[313]:the advent ..mo money?
this was taken from www.inthemix.com.au Hardware Corporation's statement: "It is with regret that Hardware wish to advise that The Advent's Australian tour has been officially cancelled. This cancellation occurred mainly due to the last minute efforts of The Advent's management to raise the price of the tour as the artist was about to board the plane. Like any promoter, Hardware will not be held to ransom and refuses to do business under these circumstances. This is the second and last time this artist has withdrawn from his Australian tour in the final hour. Unfortunately, Hardware will no longer tour or represent The Advent in Australia. We do sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to promoters and Advent fans across the country." cheers ad - Original Message - From: "Melody Ng" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <313@hyperreal.org> Sent: Wednesday, September 12, 2001 9:41 AM Subject: [313] Re: re[313]:the advent ..mo money? > > Apparently he was about to leave, and his management demanded more money. > Hardware(who was bringing him out) cancelled because of that. > > As an aside, I was quite surprised to see the Neon Genesis Evangelion Evas > as the artwork on the flyer. > > Cheers > > Mel > > > Melody Ng > Project Officer > Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII) > http://www.austlii.edu.au/ > > > Date: Tue, 11 Sep 2001 18:55:51 +1000 > To: 313@hyperreal.org > From: "Rod Andres Alvarez" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: re[313]:the advent ..mo money? > Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > has anybody mentioned the fact that the advent cancelled his tour of > australia cause he wanted mo money? > they were charging A$30 > > > > - > To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [313] The Advent
No problem G Flame: Generation X EP: Alpha Records Far more tracky than any other G Flame release, this record bears less resemblance to any other G Flame records. Pushing more housey sounds, samples, and filters than ever before. No riding crash cymbals to be found, just some average on the beat hi hats, and generic Advent snares. The most interesting part of this record is the bounce given to the long player, almost progressive. Very Chicago. Sterac: Sterac EP: Tresor More Rachmad tone workout's. I don't know, this isn't one of my favourite releases, if I had to sum it up though, take away the squelchy mids and subtle loopy highs of Hood, and add a mild 909 pound and that's whats left on this EP. I think that other Rachmad comes out this week. Can't remember the title right now though. Hope this helps Todd [EMAIL PROTECTED] ryan burns wrote: > > > twist in the Advent signature sound. Re: [313] The Advent
I think this was before the split, but Sonicgroove states it is after. The first three releases are by both Colin & Cisco, however the album contains only two tracks; Nubian Day and Luftcontroller which are attributed to both men. RE: [313] The Advent
I think it will have been Cisco on a soloflight, like most of the productions by The Advent. Does anyone know what kind of input Colin McBean has in the Soul Destroyaz LP, Destroyed, on Synewave? I haven't got the album but I know the two worked together on at least one track, Nubian Day, since I have that on a comp. I am just trying to ascertain if the album was mostly a Cisco solo project or Advent project, as things have become less clear-cut since they split. Re: [313] The Advent
Haye! *** I have some info at the Counterforce site and an article by me on the Sony/BMG case. You can check it out at http://barkingcat.org/counterforce. The article speaks exactly in the way that a precedent that is being open by this case can affect the independent record industry. We're working on that English version of the site that is still outdated, please be patient with us :-) I'd appreciate any info on the UR case with Sony/BMG, like interviews, opinions, points of view, sites, information centers, etc. *** On that other note, when and where is Cisco living in Portugal? Didn't he said why or what he plans to do now? There's also an interview with the Advent guys at the Counterforce site, address above. Cisco and Colin gave me the best live show I have ever seen in my life on electronic music. Now *that* was a workout :-) Lay "Um Império Tecnológico consolidado pela Necessidade" http://barkingcat.org/counterforce - Original Message - From: Ben Shepherd <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <313@hyperreal.org> Sent: Monday, May 15, 2000 12:32 AM Subject: [313] The Advent > Was speaking to Cisco/The Advent a few days ago and he seems to be majorly > hyped about his future work.
