Re: Unable to create Subdivision of Product Partition and Unable to Replace the Existing Product Partitoons as well
Hi Devin, Please elaborate: "A product partition tree is simply a collection of AdGroupCriteria that are linked together. In order to remove the existing product partition tree, you can select and remove all AdGroupCriteria for a given AdGroup with a Criterion of type PRODUCT_PARTITION. Then you should be able to use the same logic you used to build the original tree to add the new one." Please give me a code example on the same. Re: Unable to create Subdivision of Product Partition and Unable to Replace the Existing Product Partitoons as well
Hi Devin, 1. I have seen the code examples by you and realized that we have 2 different ways of coding the product partition, both are attached as examples here in this. I am using the first approach and have coded the system already, this first approach is tested at our end and has been accepted as part of Product and serving clients, the first approach is creating the product partition, I do not want to change the first approach for the creation and not looking to write another set of code for Updation, I want to edit the first approach only to suit the requirement of just removing the existing product partition and creating the new one. please help here. 2. I need to modify the first approach code so that it can remove the existing product partition and update with new one. Re: How to add the short headline, long headline, Image, Description to smart shopping ad in Smart Shoppping Campaign
I had been following the blog, any Idea on when this may get added. What would you suggest we shall do here? Our tool creates/manages campaigns on the client's behalf using the APIs, thereby giving a simple solution by hiding all complexities. In this scenario, we are successfully creating most of the Campaign Request but to mention these attributes we have to go to UI again to set it, which is burning our time and lowering the productivity. Is there any 3rd party SAAS Product API are available which simplifies the Google AdWords CRUD operations for End User
Google AdWords API is too complex , the most complex as far as I have seen in my experience of 10 years of development. The complexity is so high that any CRUD operation does not go simply successful in the first attempt. More to it the Errors and Exceptions are needed to be dug into the SOAP and clearly do not mention what went wrong. Compare it with the Facebook Product Set Operation, Ad Creation, Adset Creation all is simple, exposed as REST APIs, their errors descriptions are simple, easy to raise a bug, and debug as well. 1. I was looking for a 3rd party API that may have simplified these operations and exposed it as simple as Facebook APIs. 2. How do many Digital Advertisement COmpanies and partners have solved this problem, are they using the APIs or simply using selenium to do the same? -- -- =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ Also find us on our blog: https://googleadsdeveloper.blogspot.com/ =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum" group. Thanks. I want to Achieve: 1. Product Partition as : All Products except filters on Product_Type_L1 and except filters on CUSTOM_LABEL_0 I tried with Attcahed code and got Attched Errors. 2. Thanks, Josh, I am having trouble that the documentation is not easy to follow and examples that are mentioned in the documentation does not explain it cleanly. Re: Google AdWords API: RequiredError.REQUIRED, operations[0].operand.criterion.parentCriterionId, and PRODUCT_PARTITION_DOES_NOT_EXIST
And why are you still using the SOAP and SDKs, when you can easily expose it over the JSON formattable REST APIs with OAuth tokens. 1. In this way, you guys will not need to manage every SDK in different language. 2. You can easily use Spring Boot or similar tools to do the same. In the end just keep it as simple as : https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-api/reference/product-set/ Check "Example Filter Rules" in the above document. and return the Unique error strings related to the Unique type of error and expose a document again on all error types. Remember: "Being Einstein may be challenging, but teaching relativity theory to a 5-year-old child, is the real deal!", we shall always keep things simple and easy to use for end-user. Re: Google AdWords API: RequiredError.REQUIRED, operations[0].operand.criterion.parentCriterionId, and PRODUCT_PARTITION_DOES_NOT_EXIST
Believe me, this is the most confusing documentation I have ever seen. https://github.com/googleads/googleads-java-lib/wiki/Shopping-product-partition-utility-for-AdWords I have No idea what this is suggesting. Especially this part "Sample use case": The tasks mentioned and examples mentioned are not at all in sync. Task: node from $2.50 to $2.00. Example: ROOT ProductType Level1 shoes ProductType Level2 athletic shoes Condition new $2.50 Condition used $1.00 Other - exclude from bidding ProductType Level2 walking shoes Condition new $3.50 Condition used $1.25 Other $1.00 I searched other documents and could not find a satisfactory document. I do not want to fall in the trap of Hit and Trial, the document shall help a Beginner. Re: Google AdWords API: RequiredError.REQUIRED, operations[0].operand.criterion.parentCriterionId, and PRODUCT_PARTITION_DOES_NOT_EXIST
Ok, I will try this. One Suggestion: You can implement Facade Design Patterns to hide complexity and expose the simple Facade to End User. I this way, not all product partition complexity will be exposed to end-user, you can create a wrapper on top of this, and end-user will see a simple facade that is easy to use by reading documentation quickly. Facebook Product ser creation is very simple: There we can mention directly in JSON what conditions we need for example: Check out this link: https://sourcemaking.com/design_patterns/facade Regards, Gagan On Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 1:53:42 AM UTC+5:30, adsapiforumadvisor wrote: > > Hi, > > To convert a UNIT (leaf) node to a SUBDIVISION, you need to have the > following operations in the *same* request: > >1. Re: Google AdWords API: RequiredError.REQUIRED, operations[0].operand.criterion.parentCriterionId, and PRODUCT_PARTITION_DOES_NOT_EXIST
Wonderful and Respectful, this worked for now :) Now I want to create one more level of SubDivision on the same. For example: 1. Split childBiddableAdGroupCriterion into 2 Units again, one will have CUSTOM_ATTRIBUTE_1 as "someValue2" and Everything Else. This Means I want All products which have CUSTOM_ATTRIBUTE_1 as "someValue2" AND CUSTOM_ATTRIBUTE_0 as "someValue1" OR 2. Split childNegativeAdGroupCriterion into 2 Units again, one will have CUSTOM_ATTRIBUTE_1 as "someValue" and Everything Else. This Means I want All products which have CUSTOM_ATTRIBUTE_1 as "someValue2" AND does not have CUSTOM_ATTRIBUTE_0 as "someValue1" 3. Thanks. Yes, I tried First Approach already and realized that this gives an error: PRODUCT_PARTITION_SUBDIVISION_REQUIRES_OTHERS_CASE This means an Empty correct case Value needs to be given. The 2nd approach I want to try but the examples are poor in the documentation. Re: How to add the short headline, long headline, Image, Description to smart shopping ad in Smart Shoppping Campaign
Thanks for the reply. 1. But these fields are available on the UI, hence must be getting persisted in backend somewhere with relation to the CampaignID, AdGroupID, or AD_ID. On UI we can see the values in AdGroup -> Ad content and must be available in the GET API, hence it must be available in POST API. 2. There must be an object or a field that carries this info, may not be available in GoalOptimizedShoppingAds but must be linked to parent Ad, Parent AdGroup or Parent Campaign Object. May you please check in the backend where these values are getting saved so that the same can be used in APIs. Hello, Please help me on how to do the same. I checked that the class GoalOptimizedShoppingAd does not have the option of adding the short headline, long headline, Image, Description.
