The call is part of the OOo document file locking and should be used only in this context. So the proposed changes are: - use the call only for documents, since it is related to OOo document file locking functionality - use the call only for editable documents - use the call only in case of file protocol - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 101224] common autocorrect replac ement table for certain languages subgroups (i .e. en-US, en-GB)
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=101224 --- Additional comments from tomm...@openoffice.org Sun May 10 17:10:22 + 2009 --- -> os: thank you for your response. I really appreciate that you are taking the time to answer me. First of all there' s actually no difference between Italian spoken in Italy and Italian spoken in Switzerland so having 2 separate acor.dat files looks redundant to me. You are right however to point out that this is not the situation of GB and US english which have some different spelling cases (i.e. color / colour). I agree with you that this subtype policy must be kept because of the minority of words that behave like this. For example i could set a: - “colour -> color” entry in the acor-en_US.dat file and a - “color -> colour” entry in the acor-en_GB.dat file So forget about my previous request about “sharing of entruies” in those separate en-GB and en-US .dat files. Each .dat files should have it's own autocorrect list. there's however the vast majority of words that have exactly the same spelling... let's take an example: “yellow” which is the same in England, USA, South Africa, Australia, Canada etc. etc. if you come with a typing error like “yrllow” you should set an autocorrect entry in each of the localized english .dat files... it would be too time consuming... It would be much user friendly and time saving to have a “non localized” acor- en.dat file whose entries are shared by all english subtypes. You see? I'm not asking to merge the GB and US acor.dat files anymore... I'm asking to add an additional “non localized” database. This would have the advantage to handle autocorrection of the vast majority of common spelling english words regardless of the regional language subtype of documents. Moreover as a side effect it would give the user additional room for autocorrections since another 65K could be added in that .dat file, and I don't think it would be a wrong way to operate. i find it a nice workaround. I know OOo has a global acor_.dat database whose entries work in any language from arabic to swahili... i find useful for typing errors about numbers like “year 2oo7 -> year 2007”. so I'm wondering that if you were able to set a .dat file for all languages you could also set a .dat file for all english subtypes (and others for all other language for whom many subtypes exist like italian, french, german, spanish etc.) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. But to allow the addition of different subtypes to reach that goal is the wrong way. I don't know the difference between it-IT and it-CH. But the example with en-US and en-GB is actually a bad idea. Different spelling and sometimes the use of different words is _the_ reason to have such different language subtypes. Merging them will break that. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I did not test on any other system. I use English (US) version of OpenOffice with an American keyboard. As my native language is Italian I need to write accented characters like à,è,é, ì,ò,ù by using ALT+133, ALT+138, ALT+130, ALT+141, ALT+149, ALT+151 key combinations, respectively. What I see is that - while being in Writer "INSERT mode" -, I have no problem to get à, è, é, ù. On the contary whe I digit ALt+141 or ALT+149 to get "ì" or "ò" they where inserted before the last character I digited. For example if I have to write: "però" by using ALT+149 I got "peòr". Actually with a database of 36000 entries in my acor.dat file i need 4 minutes to have the replacement table opened (my system is Win Vista 64 but, centrino 2, 4GB RAM... i have the same results on XP 32bit Pentium4 521BM RAM). In that time OOo gets stuck and no other operation is possible. I suggest to find a way to make loading time faster and independent from the number of entries in the database. as i said the more issue you have the slower is the table to load. when you reach higher numbers of entries like 64000 you need even 15 minutes to load the table. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It finally causes OOo to crash. This is a very strange behaviour. Please follow these steps in order to reproduce the bug: I´ll attach a bugdoc for easy reproduction of the bug. However, the bug is *not* related to this special document. It seems the bug occurs with any document, that contains a Datapilot based on a certain minimum amount of data. First with Windows 2000: (1) Open the bugdoc. (2) Select some cell range inside the Datapilot. (3) Use Drag&Drop and the CTRL-Key in order to copy and paste the selected cells to somewhere else. Up to now, everything is fine. (4) Select some other cell range. This time your selection does not need to be inside the Datapilot but can be any cell range within your document. (5) Again, use Drag&Drop and the CTRL-Key in order to copy and paste the selected cells to somewhere else. Now, after performing Drag&Drop for a second time, the application freezes for 30 to 60 seconds. After that, Drag%Drop has been executed, but the GUI does not redraw. You will have to scroll the sheet forward and back in order to force redrawing, so that you can see the result. (6) Close the document. (7) OOo freezes and/or crashes. It is slightly different with Ubuntu Linux 8.10: (1) Open the bugdoc. It defaults the colours of the hyperlinks to a very pale blue which because of the colour scheme I use as a background makes it very difficult to make out what the hyperlink reads. This is true when I open the resulting powerpoint document directly in Powerpoint and also when I open the powerpoint document in Impress. When the original ODP file is opened in Impress all the hyperlinks are the correct colour. I realize I am not using the latest stable release. There is a problem with the Writer component reported here: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=101472 which means any tables I create are corrupted when exported to Word format. Saving again the Auslagerungsdatei grows over 1.7 GB and then it crashes. The C++ Runtimes have been updated bevor from Microsoft. No physical memory mistakes have been detected before. Workaround: Removing 2 GB from Main Memory on the Computer. Now writer works without waiting after saving the file. No more crash. gerdl 10.05.2009 e...@arcor.de - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [graphics-issues] [Issue 101721] allow for conditional sli des or branches in a presentation
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=101721 Issue #|101721 Summary|allow for conditional slides or branches in a presenta |tion Component|Presentation Version|1.0.0 Platform|All URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|FEATURE Priority|P3 Subcomponent|programming Assigned to|graphicsneedsconfirm Reported by|ovvldc --- Additional comments from ovv...@openoffice.org Sun May 10 11:09:07 + 2009 --- Currently, presentations have a fixed linear progression. I would like to be able to make a slide that I can choose to call up, depending on the circumstances, without necessarily including it in the main flow of the presentation. For example, I am teaching a class about energy conversion technlogies. I would like to have (an) extra slide(s) explaining catalysis in case a student asks a question about it. However, if no question comes (depending on the audience which I don't exactly know in advance), I can just continue with the lecture. I would like to be able to either bind extra slides to a button (keyboard or widget), and/or have a tree structure in the slide sorter so that I can cluster pieces of information and presentation. There is already a presentation extension that can preview the next slide and show notes, so it might be possible to extend this to show branch options as well. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 101720] Text looks hiedous
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=101720 --- Additional comments from digu...@openoffice.org Sun May 10 10:41:17 + 2009 --- I highlighted the problematic areas in the images. All images were created on openSUSE 11.1 with 100% zoom and 12pt font size. = Times New Roman = "pick" looks like there is a space between "pi" and "ck". "big" looks OK, though. The "e" of "the" dangles in the air, too. = Arial = The space around "i" is either one, two or three pixels. Sometimes, the space to the left and to the right of the letter is different. = Utopia = "receive" looks normal while "distress" has no space between the letters. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
