Previous updates to Field descriptions in the design view vanish when one updates the next field. Some can be preserved by saving the table immediately while cursor is in the field being updated and then saving the database. Similar to the "toggle" technique described by r4zoli on the forum. But even after all that, I opened the table after having closed the db and ALL of the comments had disappeared.
