[arch-general] Initramfs fallback render
Hi all, I have always learnt that it was good practice (to use sudo instead of root su and), when we use sudo, to completely disable root login (by disabling his password). However when we need to boot into "fallback mode", initramfs asks for root password! Is there a standard/automated way to ask/permit another user via initramfs in Archlinux? If not, how do you deal with that usually? Thanks in advance for your response! Regards, -- Ismael signature.asc Description: Digital signature

I need to fix that. Hehe ;) Just a quick shot at your scene with LuxRender: http://arch.coderkun.de/logo/arch-logoLux.png http://arch.coderkun.de/logo/arch-logoLux.blend Rendered about ~10 minutes.

It has some pretty good default materials and would come much closer to the requested Ubunutu logo rendering. ¹ https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/luxrender/ ² https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/any/luxblend25/

It took me about 45 minutes to learn enough blender to create a quick draft of a 3D logo: image: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=33n98uu&s=5 blend: http://ge.tt/6SDaLGz/v/0 Now it just needs some proper materials and lighting and cleaning up the arrow. The blend file and the screenshot are licensed under CC0 (ie. public domain), so anyone can finish it up. Don't forget that the logo is still copyrighted. Lukas
