As Oak said, we can;t even get built was it supposed to get built let alone additional stuff. Screw it, why not be like Bradley, OG and others and have NO boardwalk buildings? PS, You can't even get Asbury Partners to do what they are supposed, I didn't expect them to water the green spaces during a heat wave and near drought. In fact, the state of the lawns in AP during the recent near drought (without water restrictions) I think is telling. My "property manager" thinks I am nuts watering the lawn saying "don't you know you can't grow grass in AP?" [AsburyPark] Re: The Look of Things -- a very strange bird
I think traderdube got it right the other day. Skip is always on the attack. Periodically I throw up a defense,(because I'm only human) but the score is hardly even. Go ahead and review my posts with everyone else. I follow one rule: I don't make "a conclusion about the person." That's the secret to being polite on a board like this. Some examples: OK to say: I disagree with you. You are wrong about that. Your opinion is not supported by the facts, so you are wrong about that. Here is why my conclusion is better than yours, etc. Not OK to say: You are wrong because you don't know anything. You are wrong because you are stupid. You are wrong because you have not studied as much as me. You don't care. You are a racist. You're biased. You're on the take. You you you you you. It simply never moves a discussion forward to concentrate on the person. Concentrate on the other person's analysis, conclusion, etc., that's fine. Look at Skip's last post. All I said was I would like to see buildings where the open space on the boardwalk is. He never engaged the subject. Just called me personally a bunch of bad things. Surely you see the difference. --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, "dfsavgny" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, "bluebishop82" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > wrote: > > Dear everyone: If you don't want people getting nasty in these > > posts, then please let Skip know how you feel about his post below. > > > Now, now, girls. On the other side of the coin is the fact that there is some visible new construction being done on two sites. Note that Asbury Partners has nothing to do with those, they just sold the property to real developers. At the Paramount Homes site along Kingley street one can now see the relationship of the building to the street line. I think a lot of people are in for a rude awakening when they realize how close the new building is to the street. Take a look, imagine an 8 story vertical face where the building is currently rising out of he ground and then add 12 feet of solid sidewalk to the curb in front of it. There is no set-back, green space or buffer zone. Kingsley street is going to be narrowed, crub-to-curb also, in addition to the 8 story walls on each side just 12 feet from the curb line. Ocean Avenue will be 2 way traffic, 1 lane each way. High density, zero-setback, 100% lot coverage; development. That's what the entire waterfront redevelopment are will be. I realize that for some people it's the greatest thing since sliced cheese to them. And that is really sad. Werner Yahoo! Groups Sponsor ~--> Get fast access to your favorite Yahoo! Groups. [AsburyPark] Sleeps with the Fish, et al.
Far be it from me to bring some modicum to this forum, but here goes. Our criticisms and analyses are valid. Let's not be written off as we were in the last election as a bunch of conspiracy theorists. If in fact someone has FACTS about some impropriety between elected officials or city employees and Asbury Partners, then certainly divulge it. If it is a rumour or your own speculation, then I respectfully suggest you do not spread it via this forum. It is clear that city leaders have let Asbury Partners run roughshod over this city. The agreement is one- sided and stinks to high heaven. Those are facts that can be easily perceived by anyone. Why this is so is another question. We can speculate if people are being paid off or have other vested interests but it is just that, speculation and I think without proof does us more harm. There is clearly something rotten in the state of Denmark. Yahoo! Groups Sponsor ~--> Get fast access to your favorite Yahoo! Groups.
