Yah right, keep dreaming. I share and help anyone who asks ... you
would not want to be in my shoes.

I'll take the million anyday, anyone want to 'buy my life' like that
Australian guy. Everyone in Asbury Park can be rid of me for a cool $1M

I just got a pair of "gay" dress sandals the other night in AC. Gay

Good thing I made up for it at Nirvana's sidewalk sale the other day.

Can't beat it. So I look like an old man in young shoes. Kids like it.

Nice point... Which relates to what I was saying before...  Some places
that are currently on the boardwalk don't seem to fit in well.  People will
walk around and look at them, but how many times will people walk into Style
Rocket and look at the same 200 dollar shorts?  It's wasted space... Gym
Good idea, but Why not put it on the ground floor of something on Ocean ave?
I think it would have been neat to split some of the pavilions down the
middle.  So you could have different "stores" on both the boardwalk side and
the Ocean ave side  Keep a more shallow sized store on the boardwalk side,
and a slightly larger space on Ocean ave.  Or mix it up, and have some that go
straight thru from boardwalk to Ocean.

HA!  I noticed my typo after I had already hit send.  Didn't bother to
send out a correction message... Figured people would figure it out!
My thoughts havn't changed... People still will only walk around and look
at the current selection of stores for so long.  After awhile they may get
boarded with them and leave!  There needs to be more "Exciting" things on the
boardwalk from how I see it.
A whole section of a pavilion is being used as a gym The gym is great,
but at night when it's closed, then that means that whole section of the
boardwalk is dark.

to send out a correct email, figured people would figure it out on their own!
My opinions havn't changed People still will only walk around for a
period of time, before they get bored with what's there.  The current types of
places on the boardwalk in my opinion will only entertain folks for a certain
amount of time.  I don't see clothing stores being appropriate for the
boardwalk.

Time will tell. Some of these stores will fail. If they think
theyre going to charge $184 for shorts then their time on the BW will
be short. Motif seems to already be out at Convention Hall... the
space is now empty. It doesnt belong in there anyway. Nobody is
looking to buy a couch when they go to a show at CH or to the beach.

You think? :) I walked by with two male gay friends and they both
went "Those clothes are s gay!" They are trying to appeal to the
stereotypical gay man, but I think, in reality, gay men are also not
paying $184 for shorts. :)

Ha. Think about it. It's sitting there just being ugly. Make it into a mini
golf with a
construction theme, or a paintball place. Or, maybe get the artist that did
"The Gates" in
NYC to come wrap it in something.
Most of all, just tear the piece of crap down and plant some grass.

Fundamental prob with Style Rocket- casual clothes, primarily aimed at
men. Most men do not spend money like that on clothes. Indeed, it is
probably even a subset of women that would spend that kind of money on
casual clothing. My husband looked a pair of shorts he liked,
seriously $184. We laughed and left. For shorts??!! You cannot wear
them to work... they are seasonal... That is a lot of money for that

would rather spend money on going out clothes, than work clothes. For

seriously nice shoes, dresses, and purses, but never spent $184 for

[AsburyPark] Help Save Tillie - Please sign

2008-08-17 Thread jerseydevilish
Four years ago, Springsteen fans helped rescue three very large wall
murals from the Palace in Asbury Park. The murals include Tillie, the
Palace fun face used by Springsteen in a famous 1973 publicity photo.
The State of New Jersey ordered the City and the developers who are
rebuilding the waterfront to preserve the murals, and to reuse them in a
new building. But as of today, the developers and the City of Asbury
Park have ignored the order. To help preserve the murals, before time
runs out, please sign the preservation petition at
www.PalacePetition.com and ask your
friends and family to help.

Let's spread this baby around !
