All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do
nothing

- Edmund Burke

Two (or one if they have two identities) were spouting racist ideas
which others were (rightfully) calling out for what they were.

Point taken Werner. But I have to say that anyone who makes a decision
to not come to AP based on this list is not really rational. Not to
mention missing out on a great place.

That attitude and those shared by select other group members is disgraceful.
This a a group created to discuss Asbury Park. Is it unreasonable to expect
that to be the case? Is it unreasonable to expect that otherwise intelligent
people would avail themselves of the politics discussion group created
specifically for their needs ?

Instead, this group has been taken over with fear and hate mongering posts
the likes of which have never been seen here. To the point of another member
indicating a desire not to spend money in Asbury Park anymore.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves for contributing to the poor image
now represented of Asbury Park by association here. The key is appropriateness,
certainly freedom of speech and sharing of opinions is valuable. However this is
not the place for what has happened over the past weeks. That should be obvious
and understandable.

Its just weird that a political board was created so this board
could discuss Asbury Park Happenings and people keep posting their
political views over and over and over again.

You don't have to change your mail preferences, just your yahoo group
preferences. I understand it may be annoying but I just don't think it
is fair to expect others to conform to your preferences. The list will
calm down. Juices are running and that is to be expected. You can
control how you get your emails...you can get a daily digest so that
you recieve only one email a day or opt to not get any (which is what
i have)

and again (i think this is the third time I have mentioned this) its
just weird that the people who want others to be quiet are the ones
who participate the least.

There was a time not too long ago when all the messages hooked onto
each other... People were talking, and you needed to follow.  Not jump
onto the web every so often to catch up on what's going on.  Because
then you'd really be lost.  There are also ways to block certain
