I really hope not, they really degrade the whole area. Isnt there
enough space in the real buildings to run businesses? Shouldn't the
developer fix up and but shops in the one they occupy, its the worst
one down there.

its not necessarily that the containers themselves are permanent, but
something will most likely always occupy their space. the planners
designed the mini golf course and the water park around these areas
where the pop up units will go... that mini golf sure isnt temporary.
when the containers are removed, there will be two blank spaces on the
corners... i doubt they will be left empty forever.

I watched the guy as he was cutting them open - real slow process.

I think they quit after the first overhang was done.

They aren't uniform in look - glass doors, roll-ups, the office one.

It's a clever concept that needs work. Re think the "temp" status and
do it better or don't do it.

Not sure. Likely to return again pending approval. Unless of course
someone remembers if they were approved for a definite period. I am
not in love with them and they could be better. But they and the other
improvements have generated a lot of traffic on the BW. That is good.

IS that to "cover" the temp status - but to return next season - or
truly gone for good?

Posting this reply from the Posh Den regarding their space on the BW:

Dear Michael,

Whatever list this is, could you please post this reply.

The Posh Den space is only operating temporary as an Art Gallery with world
famous celebrity photographer Timothy White. Stop by and see if you can guess
all the A list celebrities.

www.timothywhitephotograpy.com

Over the next few weeks, Posh Den will be filled with amazing merchandise.

Posh Den is the Jersey Shore's newest destination for treasures from
locations that most people only dream of visiting; bringing a unique
collection of Asian Modern art and artifacts, gifts and home furnishings that
are as amazing as our Ocean Front location.

We look forward to you stopping by and see our amazing utilization of our
space.

Best regards,

The Posh Den Team
Roy, David and Jamie

lots of wasted space... but then again i dont think many of these
stores are filled out to their maximum potential yet. glass blowing
and pottery need their extra space to hold workshops and such, and
style rocket might fill up as time goes on. a place like posh den,
on the other hand, seems completely out of place in that large corner
spot in 3rd ave. there could be much much more in that space, its
way too empty right now

dont forget sunset ave pavilion and the 4th ave pavilion (mm could
move their offices to the 2nd floor of either or both of those
pavilions and open up the ground floor for retail in 4th and fill
that gap in the flow of the boardwalk... eliminate a dead zone)

The biggest wasted space in the building that was in the best condition.

The problem with the 5th ave pav, they put two units in there that need
all that venting

Some stores likfe the "extra" space as a way to display - like gallerys
or trendy stores. But you can also think of a corner newstand in NYC or
Jack's 99cent store in midtown - floor to ceiling front to back ever
inch filled.

One of my first jobs - Channel Lumber in Ocean Twp - stocking shelves
before they opened (and later closed)...we were given computer diagrams
of how all the "new" packaging was designed to maximize shelf space.

You can fit alot in a small space. Pay less rent and utilities. That's
why the pop-ups are interesting, a table at the flea market is
interesting and a web page or web storefront is interesting. Overhead.
