I love you too! When I can't afford travel, I watch the Travel Channel and what draws travelers to a specific place. Is it the mountains? Cathedrals? Hotels? NO! It's the uniqueness of say, Paris, with its' Eiffel Tower! Italy for its' Leaning Tower! Asbury Park, for its' Carousel/Palace Amusements/Madam Marie/Convention Hall or Bradley himself, for the historic City HE founded! What is New Orleans known for? Mardi Gras/French Quarter/French cuisine/Emeril and BAM! Not to mention Louisiana Porch Puppies, AKA Alligators! New York! Would anyone tear down Lady Liberty? Radio City? The Plaza or anything on 5th Ave.? NO! I have to ask, why oh why would anyone want to tear down Coney Island? There would be no reason to go to Brooklyn, other than Juniors! Hinge, I know you've traveled all over. Me too! I've been under the arches in St. Louis, crazy places, like Charlotte, Long Beach, LA, San Diego and Anaheim, Ca. I drove past the JSRM the other day, around 3 pm. There were some pretty nasty, greasy looking guys sitting around on the sidewalk. Great image for people driving on Memorial drive, or coming into the city via Asbury Ave. --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, "Hinge" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Asbury Partners is destroying Asbury to make an enclave for themselves and > people with > money. Asbury Partners is destroying Asbury to make an enclave for themselves and people with money. It's obvious that when they got involved, they saw $ first, history last. They don't care at all about Asburys history, whether it be architecturally, or the music history that Asbury is very known for around the world. --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, "evosap" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > At the Wonder Bar last night my favorite moment was when the singer of > Paperback Radio told the story of talking to his dad about AP. You don't see any Crips, Bloods, etc. on Park Ave. Poor neighborhoods are typically overburdened by social service facilities. The conditions act as a petri dish for these gangs to germinate, breed and proliferate. Allowing JSRM in AP only adds to the toxic mix. AP has had enough. It is time to say no. Yahoo! At the Wonder Bar last night my favorite moment was when the singer of Paperback Radio told the story of talking to his dad about AP. His dad's comment was "The problem with AP is the 3 gangs, the crips, the bloods and the Partners" . Despite many being disturbed by the poor and panhandlers, the most damaging are the ones with lots of cash. --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, "Hinge" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Sharon wrote this the other day; > "Preservation of what > gives Asbury Park, its' uniqueness, is of little value to those in the > real estate industry. Sharon wrote this the other day; "Preservation of what gives Asbury Park, its' uniqueness, is of little value to those in the real estate industry.
