I am not saying I agree with putting a skatepark where a tennis court is, but a skatepark will benefit our community and children. Its been proven to reduce crime, and improve graduation rates among HS students in urban communities throughout the country. Check out the Tony Hawk Foundation or Rob Dyrdeks foundation. They do great work. With that said, given the increase in local kids skating, a skatepark would be a great asset to Asbury Park, however, putting it in a unused tennis court is not the answer. Better Hurry up and make a presentation to City Council... or beter yet to the School Board (its their property) The Tennis Courts at the Middle School are not used for tennis ... But... A presentation was made tonight by an organized Skateboard group to use the courts for skateboarding...
