[AsburyPark] Re: Stoner: "It's Make-Believe Ballroom Time"
The pleasure is all mine! This think-tank of a group, is a real world, eye-opener! I leave myself, wide open, because I genuinely believe and dream a world, where everyone lives in a town, called "Perfect"! I just finished reading about what kids really do now, and I see them evolving into "wide loads", if you know what I mean! As much as I love the grandkids, I can't wait for them to leave, so that I can run this "disk-cleaner", that wipes face-book and those other "wierd" sites and their "cookies", OFF of my hard drive and if I hear "Soulja Boy", ONE more time, I'll RETCH! Hinge: JUST SAY NO! You cracked me up, because I know most of the young people who starred in "CLERKS" and "MALL-RATS"! Before the movies, I always thought they should have been on Second City, or SNL! Man, do the screen-play, no, write the book, first! I wasn't a perfect parent, none of us are, you know. I learned as I went along and when I saw myself becoming my mother, I did just the opposite! It worked! I never wanted to be a "MU-MU" wearing mom! My Grandma wore them and I hated the look! Me? I wear the "I can wear you outdoors", pajamas! They look like pantsuits, except the waist is elasticized! A modern version of the what? "MU-MU"! I look like I'm on my way to "yoga", class! Oh man, teen drinking, has been going on since Roman Times, I guess! One afternoon, after being released from school, just after lunch, instead of going home, I went to my friends, who were a set of fraternal twins, home and into the basement we went, to play records and what else? DRINK! Drinking for us, (16), was Creme de Cocoa, Anisette or Creme de Menthe! Cordials! It's what "nice" girls drank in polite company. Drinking was part of my French Culture. At 2 weeks old, at my christening, I was given a sip of "pink" Champagne! I gave the same to my kids, at theirs! Just to wet their lips! It is a tradition and wine served at meals were no big deal! Here in NJ, I would NEVER do these things! Now, I could land in jail! I'm talking about the mid-60's, when all this occurred. My children never had to "sneak" alcohol and when they reached "legal" age, here, in NJ, didn't even bother with it. We lived on a hill, that had "hair-pin" turns, so no drinking and driving either! I had heard of too many cars, not making those curves, killing several people, up there. You only have to tell me once! If we DO get the surveillance cameras, ALL crime will go down, so I wonder just how relevant it is to the authorities? Job security, you know! I saw the Mounties on patrol on Channel 4! Yes, AP made the nightly news and the 2 "Dobbins", were walking up Cookman Ave. Now, really! What's the purpose? Oh God, I feel the taser, already! Okay, enough! With her eye-brows raised, she said, "COMMENTS"? --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > > Sharon, thank you. > > Now that I've basked in that glow for an hour or so, it's time to quickly > pass the baton to one of the others on your honor roll. Sharon, thank you. Now that I've basked in that glow for an hour or so, it's time to quickly pass the baton to one of the others on your honor roll. I see all three, as a matter of survival. I've read, heard and viewed documentaries, of what really happened and if you've studied history, the Vatican, harbored many Jewish children and was suspected by the Nazis of doing just that, harboring Jews. Fake passports, Jews posing as Catholics, until they reached Portugal, are legendary, just as Schindler's List, also saved many Jews from the gas chambers. To other posters: I don't think anyone should sail back to Spain, no more than my sailing to Africa, a continent, I am tied to by geneaology. JR: Celebrate your heritage all you want! You have nothing to apologize for. We all bring something to table, so stay proud, but stop calling anyone who disagrees with you, un-American! Mario: I'm just going to break down and call you "Einstein"! You are truly brilliant and learned. I thought I had hit everything on the internet, until I clicked some of these fascinating links, you provide! Frank D, you are now in second place, for now! Mario has trumped you, but you're neck and neck, as far as brilliance, goes. I'll have to buy new sunglasses, to be around you two! Hinge: You too! I have enjoyed the videos, the photographs, your wit and your undying love for humanity. You, Werner and Maureen, bring so much to this group. Dan: You and the short salespro, have taught me so much about the real estate "game", the good and the not so good! I just don't understand why you aren't the developer. You feel us, have a good sense of what would really make this place hum and yet, no one listens! There! I've listed all who could run this City and turn the powers that be, on its' heels! Why oh why can't we have the Community, we want and yearn, for? Whoops! Forgot Rev. Kev. ! You should come and be the director of all the 80 non-profits! Run 30 of them OUT of town, so that the "real" ones can flourish, like The Center and Habitat! I had no idea! Mario cited the Churches. Can't say who should stay, or go. Freedom of religion, you know? Oh well, bring the dogs and I'll help! Did I forget anyone? If I did, it wasn't on purpose. You're ALL very precious, caring and professional people, who sincerely want to make AP, a better place! We should have T-Shirts made up, with the proceeds going to some worthy cause. They should read: "ASBURY PARK, THE COMMUNITY THAT CARES"! Oh well, I can dream, can't I? --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > > > In a message dated 10/7/2007 11:54:39 A.M. Whoa! I replied before I saw your previous post. As usual I ASSUMED that, this was the reason and I still have no beef with the City. They do love the kids here, if nothing else! Re-examining history doesn't not make a person un-patriotic. Neither does questioning our government. Following blindly is the most un-patriotic thing a person can do in my opinion. --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, "justifiedright" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, "radio881gal" > wrote: > > > On Columbus, glad to hear you're not backing those promoting that > > sham. We're talking about a raping, pillaging criminal. Loffredo says it's ok because he was just a product of his time. And a lot of Germans hated the Jews during Hitler's time. Would anyone say Hitler was just a product of his time? A slippery slope, such talk. Thanks for the ballroom, Mario! PS - From what I hear Live Nation is another name for Clear Channel, the entity of theirs that is gobbling up the show promoters.
