I can't believe this! Within a few minutes of my query I've received useful information from forum members in Hong Kong and Sweden. Doesn't anyone ever sleep anymore? Thanks guys. (I'm still working on implementing what you've told me, but I did want to express my thanks quickly.) Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Disabling Volume Adjustment
The Volume Adjustment feature enables or disables the automatic adjustment of playback volume based on ReplayGain data stored in the track tags. This can be set via the web page as you have seen or via the remote control handset under Settings, Volume Adjustment. For a "Stop", press and hold the "Pause" button. Not super-intuitive perhaps but makes sense to me once I think about it - and saves a button. davep -- davep davep's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50965 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Disabling Volume Adjustment
Hi you can do the player settings from the web interface to, go "settings" in the bottom of the left pane, then "player" tab then you can find "audio" on the drop down meny, then you find a "volume controll" tab. This is adjusted for each player you have. Other wise center button wold work as "enter" in someplaces or "play". For PAUSE short click on pause button for STOP long click on pause button. -- Mnyb Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50965 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Disabling Volume Adjustment
This is my first post, as I only received my Squeezebox Classic today. Although I can bring up on my Settings screen under Volume Adjustment the option for No Volume Adjustment, the manual that came with my unit does not address this issue, and I can't find on my remote an "Enter" type button to enable this feature. (I also can't find a button on the remote to "Stop" the playing of a music item!) I expect I'll feel embarrassed when someone (hopefully) points out the no-doubt-obvious answers to this (these) queries. -- ascherjim ascherjim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19311 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50965 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles

In the world of high-end audio, being "unique" and "special" is what it takes to sell a product or to sell your opinions. The author of the article has found his "uniqueness" by making claims counter to all logic and to all other wanna-be audiophile gurus that a lossy codec actually improves sound. That's called marketing. He has found his "thing" and he'll stick to it, hoping it will propel him to the top of the audiophile dung heap. [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Online source for sensible interconnects?
I'm keen to get some sensible, quality RCA interconnects for between my duet and integrated amp - obviously, locating reasonably priced interconnects at typical lengths is pretty straight forward - but I am really after some short interconnects if for no other reason than cleaning up a visual mess. I'm after ~30cm lengths, but sadly I haven't been able to find anything in this short length other than (what I regard as) over-priced hype cables. Does anyone know of an online distributor or good brand I can get easily in these short runs?
