Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Snap, Crackle and Pop
Hi, I've recently changed my transporter's configuration in order to use directly itunes (macosx 10.4.10) to manage and play my music. So i've bought an airport express, activate airtunes and connect the airport express directly to the transporter using the toslink digital in. After some trouble to get any sounds (reset...), i can now directly play itunes directly to my transporter but all the tracks present crackles and pop when playing. I use ALAC file format and all my tracks are clean, perfectly ripped, playing with absolutely no crackles if i stream it wireless use slimserver on my mac ! Any idea where the problem can be ? Is my toslink cable not adapted for handle it or if the toslink in of the transporter presents some problem ? Any help will be very appreciated... Just to be curious, i've read on Trustedreviews their review of my Synology CS406 NAS and it's also pretty funny. No comparaisons, estimations, R/W tests, speed tests, heat tests, etc. In fact, they've simply took the Synology manual and copy it for their so-called and misnamed "review". [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Re: Transporter review
Just ridiculous ! And with what equipment the Transporter was tested ? An Ipod ? Just look at the evaluation of the sound quality : SB3 and Transporter have the same, 8/10; pretty funny, isn't it... OK, i really enjoy my SB3 and there is no doubt that the sound quality is already very good. But the Transporter just sounds better ! After days of intense listening, the difference is obvious, especially with vocal, jazz and classical music. More, bass is really tremendous and i was very attentive to the clearness and natural of high frequencies, especially with my Klipsch RF7. There is also no doubt that your appreciation will greatly depends on your actual hifi system and above all on your ears. But saying that the Transporter (or even SB3) is uninvolving instead of musical is simply unfair and wrong. -- Chander Transporter & SB3, Arcam Alpha 8R+8P, Klipsch RF7, Synology CS 406 Chander's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3691 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29450 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
