Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] transporter vs modded duet + monarchy nm24 dac?
I disagree about the bolder mods. I really enjoy my modded SB3sorry just one person's opinion. -- kbuzz kbuzz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15313 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=52999 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Volume control question-Does it threw out bits?
Newbie here with a basic question. Does the internal volume control on the SB3 affect the quality of music? In other words, is it better to max out the SB internal digital volume control and use the volume on a pre amp? I think i recall somewhere that the transporter at the high end of the vol range only throws away minimum bits, but not sure about the SB3 or a levels say 70-95 percent -- kbuzz kbuzz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15313 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48368 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Vibration Control on SB or power supply
Anyone tried vibration control on their SB our Power supply. Ive had good luck recently with some herbies tender feet under my bolder power supply. -- kbuzz kbuzz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15313 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47786 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Anyone tried ERS Cloth on their Power Supply
I took a standard piece and cut it in half. One of the top and one half on the bottom of my dac. Definately had some effect, just cant tell if positive or not. With that said, mid range clarity is reduced, high end grunge significantly reduced. This is at the expense of some "you are there" clarity. This maybe too much of a good thing I left the bottom half under the dac, and wrapped the remaining half around my bolder modded elpac power supply. sound is now quite muddy, thick and well poorthis may not be a great test as the SB3 and elpac are still breaking in. In other words, the poor sound right now could be a dip in the break in process. I have found up and downs in break in... Ill run some more break in tones and the xlo break in cd for another 25 hours or so.if sound remains the same, i may have to cut up the ers in smaller pieces. Concepttually, i cant see how the ers on the elpac could have any negative effect at all...but i await further word from this board and additional break in and experimentation -- kbuzz kbuzz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15313 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47063 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Anyone tried ERS Cloth on their Power Supply
Has anyone tired any of this stuff on a SB power supply-either a stock modded elpac type? I've been fooling around with it on my dac and its starting to peak my curiosity after initially thinking it had no effect -- kbuzz kbuzz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15313 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47063 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
