[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] muddy sound after new sb software update
did anyone get a really muddy sound after the latest update? it sounds pretty bad here today, and the update is the only change over the weekend. muddy -- melomaniac melomaniac's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12140 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88857 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] sudden stop
my transporter has the odd habit of suddenly dropping the SPDIF signal. it's not the wifi/ethernet I worry about, it's the digital input that suddenly stops. the CD will spin on, and the Transporter needs to be turned off and on again, set to digital input, to pick it back up. happens about once a week or so. is it interference from some neighborhood remote? seems random. -- melomaniac melomaniac's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12140 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79537 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] transporter balanced output?
hello, are there people who have compared the transporter's balanced out to the single-ended out? and can speak to the differences? I wonder if it's worth experimenting. but my current amp does not have balanced input. I like class D amps (but don't mind A or A/B), but I'm limited in my amp choices because I need the wattage to drive magneplanar speakers (I can't justify buying a tube amp with that much power too expensive). so many good recommendations won't work for me... does anyone here use a wyred4sound or ps audio amp with balanced input from their transporter? -- melomaniac melomaniac's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12140 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76644 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles

I actually doubted the health of my amp after someone changed the vol setting on my sb3. it sounded substantially different (not just softer) and I had no idea why, until I decided to check the sb3 and found that it was set to 43% output. yech! -- melomaniac melomaniac's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12140 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48290 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] which of the Channel Islands power supplies?
hi, loving my two sb3 - one runs into a channel islands audio dac, the other goes analog. the one on the bigger system has a bolder elpac powering it. sounds nice! my question is: should I get the new channel islands power supply for the other squeezebox? or their power supply for their dac? what would the difference be, and which difference would, erm, make more of a difference? -- melomaniac melomaniac's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12140 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=45788 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles

Re: [SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Benchmark vs. CIAudio VDA-2
how do people feel about the predecessor, the Channel Islands Audio VDA-1 DAC? is it an improvement over the analog out of the SB3? I am trying to decide between an inexpensive DAC like this one, and an upgraded power supply. which would make more of a difference? -- melomaniac melomaniac's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12140 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=36172 ___ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
