Did you try converting to WAV? - I use dbpoweramp and convert to 24/96
wav. No problems there - over ethernet.

Ditto - the "ran out of decoder data memory" error message is the one
that usually shows up when inadvertently trying to play full 5.1 flac
files, i.e. files which are not DTS encoded and contain each of the 5.1
channels separately (as opposed to DTS encoded flac files, which also
cannot be "played" by the Transporter, but will be digitally passed
through via the Transporter's digital output to a device which can
decode the files, such as a home theater receiver.)

Oh make sure that they are 2ch 24/96 files if you bought 5.1 files you
can't play them on a squeezebox.

Almost all of my FLACs are encoded at -8 and the rest at -5 - never had
a problem on the Touch. Now running a 7.6 beta, but was also OK with
7.5.x

Good luck...

Are you saying that even after recompressing to -0 they still sometimes
won't play?

[SlimDevices: Audiophiles] Problem with 24Bit/96Khz

2010-12-23 Thread sdcoomber

In around 50% of cases, when I try to play a Flac file encoded at 24/96
the transporter crashes with "ran out of decoder data memory". I have
had some success in reconverting the files to Flac -0 (least
compression), but this seems to be a recurring issue. Anyone got any
ideas - apparently I cannot increase the memory in the transporter.
