The ones i heard where the ones with the ringradiator tweeter from
scanspeak
in the middel of another driver.

The sounded huge even in that very large room(maybe 80 sq meter)
the also go very deep.
But the sure sounded fantastic but one thing i dont like and thats the
side fireing bass units
somehow it dossent sound right compared to front fireing drivers.

Next speaker evalation will be the Sonus faber amati anniverasrio

Hi

The tact millennium is a powerd dac so we just connect a singelended
digital cable to the dvd players -digital out-.

The transporter when used as an dedikated transporet works wonders when
connected directly to the millennium
sound is so pure.

A guitar really sounds like a guitar and so on .

Before i had 2 lyngdorf tda2200 amps lyngdorf cd-1 and roomperfect
roomcorrection w210 corner subs gamut l3 speakers hydra 8 with all
anaconda vx cables special platforms and vertex aq cabels .

I gladly sold it all and bourgt a tact milennium mk3 had that
completly moddified then a Transporter wich also is moddified and
system audio 99 as tempoary speakers wich basicly is the cheapes worst
speaker system ever made.

What puzzels me is that the sound in my room with that gear sounds
alot better then my former references system ever sounded .
and thats with the cheap speakers stock cabels no roomcorrection no
nothing .wonder will happen when i get the cremonas; )

The Transporter have alot to do with this fantastic sound its so
musical.
I would really had liked to demo the calendras again but this time with
the transporter as sourch.

I supposed you used the TACT as DAC, is that correct?
When auditioning the kW750, did you use the internal DAC of the DVD?

The Avanti you be a huge improvement compared to any cheap SAs but

Yes it has the same eq crossover and delay functions as the Roomperfect
amp fro lyngdorf audio

Actually i have desided to keep it

I had a shotout with the musical fidlity kw 750 and top line front end
vs the moddifed tact millennium mk3 with a dvd player

The mellennium sounded better in the areas of dimensionality resolution
smothnes dynamics soundstage and detajl.
Actually there is a paradox hear because the Musical fidility reference
system sounded more digital then the millennium.
The millennium sounded more musical also wich is the key hear.

The music fidility bass was alittel stronger but only a littel.

Speakers where audio physics calendra

it was a shop demo so i couldent bring my Transporter but beleive me it
sound massivly better then the dvd player

I will upgrad my speakes instead because thise are the things that hold
my system back.

I will leave the nuforce behind for now

Does the TacT Millennium provide any parametric equaliser functions? If
so, you should be able to get a soundstage that suits your room by
adjusting, especially, the 3 kHz region.

Hi all

My main amp is a tact millenium .
when i use the transporter as an transport into the emillennium the
sound i get is very close to perfect .

its no contest vs the ice amp wich is a moddified version of the
asp1000 modul with a much larger power supply.

But what i do like about the ice amp is its bass dynamics wich i thing
is just a littel better then the mk3 and have thinking about a
replacement of amp.
But it better be pretty damm good to better the millennium mk3.

Now the nuforce ref 9 se amps when i read about it it pretty much
describes what i would like from a amplifire .

Big bass dynamics grainfree treble layered soundstage that opens up
bacwoards wich i thing is perfect for a smalle 16 sq meter room .

My tact millennium tends to create the soundstage infront of the
speakers wich is good but when you only sit 3 meter from the speakers
it can make the soundstage to much in your face .

So i kind of hope the ref se would be what i have been looking for .

regards

As both a Nuforce and Bel Canto dealer in Australia, I would go for an
ice power amp (eg.Belcanto REF1000) over the Nuforce. I am afraid that
the Nuforce build quality and other issues lead me to recommend
Belcanto over Nuforce. The Nuforce also generates enough RFI to take
out FM reception at 10 metres. Definitely use the TP direct to a power
amp if you can, at the price there is next to nothing that can beat it.
The transparancy and immediacy is just amazing.

A gentle approach to solving playback acoustical problem or fine tuning
without resort to source signal manipulation (leave that to the
professionals, they got the skill and million dollar equipments during
recording). In my 30 years experience, the simpler the playback system,
the more musical and pleasant the sound. It's very hard to explain, it's
the micro ear/brain/time delay/phase/amplitude/decay/reverberant cues
that are the norm in our daily lives which help the brain locate
things, I dunno, just my humble opinion...

Think will just start out using only the transporter since this is
proberly the way to get the best sound kval, and then use some room
treatment if needed.

Opinions vary, as this is audiophile land after all. Some people love
TACTs. Others love the minimalist approach.

Using the TACT implies forgoing the Tp DAC, which in my opinion is the
whole point of the Tp. you can always pair an SB3 with the TACT if you
want to have a cheaper transport and use a seperate DAC.

As you can tell, I am in the minimalist camp and go Tp to power amp
directly using builtin passive attenuation.

There has been a request of SD to enhance the Tp with a digital out
loop capability to loop in the TACT digitally so you can get room
correction and still us the Tp DAC.

Hi

I am givng the nuforce se monos some serious thourgts.

But would i need a preamp for best results maybe somthing like the tact
2.2 xp and use the TP as a transport.?

Or am i better of with keeping things as simple as possible and use the
TP as preamp ?

And even better is there enyone that have tried eather of my ideas ?

Last but not last i have tried to use the tnasporter as preamp for a
ICE amp and it sounded out of this world.
