Hi Ken; Are you certain that the Flight Recorder is meant to appear as a disk or storage device? I think the first thing to do is use lsusb to get the vendor / device ids and lshw to see what it looks like to the Linux machine. If it is a storage or disk device then pluging it in would probably need to load the 'usb_storage' kernel module (i.e. the 'usb-storage' driver). My guess is that if Windows needs some sort of driver to access the device then it is not a storage class device.
