Jangan Kalah Sama Para Ayah di Amerika! Belakangan ini, di Amerika sana terjadi perubahan positif dalam hal perawatan dan pemeliharaan bayi. Perubahan apa itu? Ternyata semakin banyak para ayah yang berperan serta secara aktif dalam membesarkan bayi mereka. Nah, kebiasaan ini juga seharusnya ditiru nih oleh para ayah di negeri kita... ya kan Ibu-ibu? Sebenarnya peran serta ayah dalam membesarkan bayinya bukan hanya untuk meringankan beban sang ibu, tetapi menurut penelitian, ternyata juga sangat diperlukan oleh bayi. Bahkan, sebenarnya bayi memerlukan partisipasi aktif sang ayah sejak proses kelahirannya. Banyak juga kita temukan para ayah yang merasa nyaman melakukan pekerjaan ini dan tidak hanya mau, bahkan mereka bersemangat dalam berbagi tugas dengan sang ibu. Karena dengan demikian, mereka bisa berperan aktif dalam berbagai kejadian sehari-hari yang menyenangkan dan tak terlupakan dalam kehidupan bayi mereka, sehingga membentuk ikatan kuat antara mereka. Apabila Anda seorang ayah yang merasa "nggak Pede" karena "nggak pengalaman" dalam hal-hal seperti itu, berarti Anda harus merubah cara pandang Anda! Ingatlah, bahwa tidak ada yang terlahir ke dunia ini langsung sebagai ayah atau ibu. Artinya, peran sebagai ayah dan ibu ini adalah sesuatu yang diusahakan dan... sebenarnya ayah juga memiliki kemampuan fitrah untuk bisa memahami seni merawat bayi. Memang sih tetap saja insting seorang ibu akan lebih menonjol, tetapi mari kita lihat apa yang juga bisa dilakukan oleh seorang ayah... Ayah bisa mengganti popok, menyiapkan susu botol, membantu memandikan bayi dan menggendongnya untuk kemudian dimomong atau disusui oleh ibunya. Ingat lho, berbagi tugas seperti ini bisa meringankan kelelahan kedua orang tua dan bisa memberi sumbangan positif untuk kebaikan hubungan suami istri. Sebuah masalah yang sering terjadi adalah sang ayah yang merasa terpinggirkan bila si ibu memberikan waktu serta perhatian sepenuhnya kepada si kecil. Apalagi jika di beberapa minggu pertama setelah kelahiran bayi tidak ada interaksi antara kedua orang tua. Walau begitu, perasaan cemburu serta konflik tersebut biasanya hanya bersifat sementara dan hal ini bisa cepat hilang seandainya saja ayah terlibat dalam perawatan serta permainan bersama si bayi. Bagi si bayi, memiliki kedua orang tua yang terlibat dalam perawatan serta permainan adalah sesuatu yang tak ternilai lho!
