Re: 2/13/70a mislabeled 2/12/70

One of the main reasons this is still going on is due to the fact that
gdlive.com has it on their server listed as 2/12/70...cm

Jim:

I don't believe I was sticking my nose in this
controversy beyond pointing out that it is an ongoing
phenomena, and the mislabeling will persist due to
Bear's and Serafin's efforts.

Personally, I think that the attribution of the
2/13/70 early show to the tape that goes around is
correct, for what it's worth.

2/13/70a mislabeled 2/12/70

2003-01-26 Thread Jim Powell
Part of the 2/13/70 Early Show has been in circulation mislabeled "2/12/70"
for more than 20 years. We proved that it was mislabeled back in the mid
80s. We proved it again a few years ago.

Everyone is familiar with Bear's notions about 2/13-14/70. All the evidence
proves him wrong. And all the evidence proves that the "2/13/70" tape is in
fact 2/13/70 Early Show.

Tim Anderson & Serafin & Bear are of course free to create as much
confusion as they want, but I really think the rest of us have spent ample
time on this question.

Here is the current DeadLists entry for 2/12/70. I bet one of these days
Kevin will have it up on the site.

COMMENTS An ad for this gig appears in the Village Voice. The 16 minute
tape fragment sometimes circulated with this label is actually Fleetwood Mac
w/ Peter Green, Clapton & Jr. Wells, Tea Party, Boston 2/12/70, the encore
of Fleetwood Mac's set. Also, the 45 AUD tape excerpt from the 2/13/70
Early Show sometimes circulates mislabeled "2/12/70 Ungano's;" for more on
this tape see 2/13/70a.
