Package: mutt Version: 1.5.9-2 Severity: important mutt -F /dev/null :set from="blahblah" Create a new mail and examine the From: header in the compose menu. It's empty instead of "blahblah". I tested mutt_1.5.11-2_amd64.deb from unstable, same problem. I tested on Gentoo and found that this problem doesn't exist there.
The problem can't be worked around with my_hdr because that overrides reverse_name, which isn't desirable. In other words, the From: line is normally set using this priority: 1. my_hdr (for example in a send-hook) 2. reverse_name (for replies only) 3. fallback to "from" setting In Debian, #3 is broken. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.12-1-em64t-p4-smp Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages mutt depends on: ii exim4 4.54-1 metapackage to ease exim MTA (v4) ii exim4-daemon-light [mail-tran 4.54-1 lightweight exim MTA (v4) daemon ii libc6 2.3.5-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libdb4.3 4.3.28-2 Berkeley v4.3 Database Libraries [ ii libgnutls11 1.0.16-14 GNU TLS library - runtime library ii libidn11 0.5.18-1 GNU libidn library, implementation ii libncursesw5 5.4-9 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libsasl2 2.1.19-1.5 Authentication abstraction library Versions of packages mutt recommends: ii locales 2.3.5-6 GNU C Library: National Language ( ii mime-support 3.35-1 MIME files 'mime.types' & 'mailcap -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
