Bug#623076: /etc/network/run is not a directory

2011-05-15 Thread Sebastian Bremicker
Package: initscripts
Followup-For: Bug #623076

Hi,

I also don't use network-manager (set up dhcp in /etc/network/interfaces)
and can confirm that I still have /etc/network/run/ifstate after upgrading
to *.6 and a reboot. Network setup is working, thus I think the latest
version does fix this problem.

Kind regards

Sebastian

Bug#617759: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/icedove/components/libdbusservice.so: undefined symbol: NS_Alloc

2011-05-03 Thread Sebastian Bremicker
Hi,

I don't see my previous mail in the sent folder and also forgot to cc
the bugtracker, so here I go again:

OK, just to be sure ;).

OK, when doing this:

I see we do have different versions of multiple packages although I do
use an experimental source, too, especially our libc6 is different
although there is no newer version available for me at the moment.
Maybe the archive I use is syncing slower.

deb http://debian.uni-duisburg-essen.de/debian/ experimental main contrib

deb-src http://debian.uni-duisburg-essen.de/debian/ experimental main contrib

But I think our libs are not comparable easily then.

keep a "bleeding edge" sid system with near-daily updates so these are the

Hi,

> It's still nothing that should happen, so it would be nice if you could
> investigate what triggers this. (Perhaps some gconf setting, some
> theming set, or or or ...).

Up to now, since last reboot, that situation did not appear again. But I have
another idea, maybe the cause is, that at the time the shortcut did not work
I had a second X with ratpoison and mythtv at vt8 (which runs at 1024x768 for
the tv-out) running. Sometimes when I open multiple gnome-terminals there,
they are opened on vt7, maybe the keyboard focus went to vt8 and I did not
recognize this. I will try to reproduce the situation with the two X.

You are right, the problems do not occur with a new user, even when I
execute the same scripts like as my normal user. I am sorry, this may
be just a local problem here.

Bug#451989: now ctrl-alt ceases working

Hi,

after installing the latest version, the hangup was solved, thank you. Now
there is another effect, after creating the same situation which caused the
hang (using ratpoison C-t exclam or colon and hitting return there) all key
combinations which are based on ctrl-alt (like ctrl-alt-f1 or -backspace)
ceased working.

Is there anything I can trace or look deeper into?

Bug#377449: swapspace: still does fail to parse /proc/meminfo here

2006-07-26 Thread Sebastian Bremicker
Hi!

Thank you very much for the patch. I am neither a developer nor a
debian package maintainer, but I tried my luck with apt-get source,
patch -p 0, apt-get -b source and dpkg -i. And now it runs:

Starting dynamic swap manager: swapspaceInitial memory status: 1079393600 bytes
to spare
.

So at least for vanilla 2.6.17.4 I can report that the patch works,
eventually I will upgrade to 2.6.17.7 before 2.6.18 is out, but here in
Germany we currently experience a hot spell so running a Personal
Computer in ones overheated home is difficult enough, let alone putting
it to work at the moment ;).

Regards

Sebastian

Bug#377449: swapspace: still does fail to parse /proc/meminfo here

2006-07-23 Thread Sebastian Bremicker
Package: swapspace
Version: 1.8-1
Followup-For: Bug #377449

Hi!

swapspace still does not start here, saying

Starting dynamic swap manager: swapspaceError: Parse error in /proc/meminfo:
' HugePages_Total: 0
'

Did I forget to enable something in the kernel (read the docs but did not
find a hint what that could be)?

On another system with debian linux-image the problem does not occur.

Regards

Sebastian

2006-05-21 Thread Sebastian Bremicker
Hi!

There is a repository containing both bootsplash package and themes:

deb http://debian.bootsplash.de unstable main
deb-src http://debian.bootsplash.de unstable main

see also http://www.bootsplash.de/ (its in english)
