ladvd, on startup, reads /usr/share/misc/pci.ids. If it can't read it, then it segfaults. You probably have missed it because you've only used ladvd on machines installed by d-i with recommends activated, which isn't my case (I used a home-brewed installer that is simply using debootstrap). In my book, this: "makes the package in question unusable by most or all users" which grants a severity: grave. Please note that the issue is on both Sid and Stable, and it would be nice if you could fix the package in Stretch as well. Also, the /var/run/ladvd seemed missing on startup of ladvd.
