Yes, they're correct.

Hmm, I searched a lot now. Can you tell me if these are the right
update CDs:
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/3.1_r1/i386/bt-cd/debian-update-3.1r1-i386-1.iso.torrent
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/3.1_r1/i386/bt-cd/debian-update-3.1r1-i386-2.iso.torrent
?

Or could you please provide a correct link for download via BT?

Or you can also download/use the update CDs - they will also cover
what you need...

And: please note that you don't have to download the r1 images if you
already have the r0 images. Just point /etc/apt/sources.list to the
network instead of the cdrom.

Or, if you have no fast net access at some computers, use jigdo to create r1
images starting from the r0a images - then you only have to download the
difference, not the full ISOs.

No, 3.1r0 was the first official release of Debian 3.1 "sarge". The CD
images had a small but annoying bug discovered a few hours after it was
released, so 3.1r0a was immediately released to correct this.

Right, r1 is just r0a plus some accumulated updates (mostly security
updates).

DVD image version (r0a/r1)?

2006-01-06 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi,

recently I downloaded two DVD images of Debian 3.1 over some BitTorrent links
found on www.debian.de:
debian-31r0a-i386-binary-1.iso
debian-31r0a-i386-binary-2.iso

Can anybody tell me if this a official release of Debian? What does the "r0a"
mean? Is a pre release version? Cause now I've found two other probably newer
versions on the same site:
debian-31r1-i386-binary-1.iso
debian-31r1-i386-binary-2.iso

Or is that difference just because of the update released end of december 2005?

Thanks in advance,
Gustav Brehmer
