Thanks to everyone involved.

By the way, is there any draft of the software, configuration used to do

Same as Martin & James.
I know I can skip Debian talks if they clash with other stuff as I know
the room will be crowded and the video quality is the best of Fosdem. As
I could not attend this year due to my damn ankle, I am even more happy
(happier?) about the Debian room videos.

Yes. one camera for the slides.
dont know which is the best:
-video combining the speaker and slides side-by-side
-a picture of the slides in the lower right corner imposed upon the image
of the speaker
-a frame switch between the speaker one minute and the slides for the
next moment and then back (with one camera focused on the slides and one
on the speaker)
-one streams - one on the speaker, one on the slides
-focus on the slides most of the time and only ocassionaly view the
speaker
-make the text of the presentation available via GOBBY (or other
colabborative editors) so that folks can
view it while watching the video

over all, the streaming is great to watch and kudos to the AV folks.

For me it was the first time to take a look at the streaming video's and
I think they are very usefull and easy to use.

It would be nice to find a way to see both the speaker and the slides at
the same time. Maybe you want to do that with picture-in-picture.

This is something that I really missed while following the talks : being
able to comment, share and ask questions !

Having somebody in the room to be sort of a "human IRC-room gateway" would
be really great - users in IRC from all over the world could interact with
the speaker !

But I know that this is a lot of hard work and immobilises one person almost
full-time!

Best regards,

OdyX

I also think it is quite useful and important. I never been able to go
to FOSDEM and it was nice to see it (I couldn't watch it for long time)

I think it's a fantastic effort, and although I am obviously only one
vote, I *do* really really hope you continue to develop this part of the

conference in the flesh, it provides us with a way of feeling very much

I know that last year (or the year before) people in the Debian devroom
used gobby to comment and add stuff about the talk. With live stream and
IRC people could do the same (or join the gobby session?) which could be
really helpful in some ways. Ok there's no beer involved, but it's way

I'll echo Martin's comments; I wasn't able to make it this year, but I
was watching the stream live from London. Besides a few tech issues that
I discussed on IRC at the time, it worked well. Perhaps we could
encourage people unable to physically attend to still watch and be on
IRC for Q&A?

Thank you to all who made this happen.
