Bug#277748: ITP: libsbml -- Systems Biology Markup Language (SBML)

Bug#277748: ITP: libsbml -- Systems Biology Markup Language (SBML)
Hi Andrea, it is great news if you could bring the libsmbl package forward. You are probably aware of my packages for the 2.0x version from the SBML.org homepage. The upstream authors liked the separation of the installation and hoped me to provide an update. I consider the packaging as complete and nicely done, uploadworthy if it was not outdated by now. Version 2.1 had the /usr/include path hard wired in the installion procedure and I did not find the time to dig into the problem, otherwise I'd have updated my packages. I was too disorganised to inform upstream of this problem. Apparently I did not even submit an ITP for it, presumably being embarassed by the now too large list of ITPs pending an upload of my preliminary packages. Should you not be aware of my initial work on libsmbl, please have a look at http://bioinformatics.pzr.uni-rostock.de/debian/ I did the initial packaging as parts of an effort to package eCell. If you share my intention it would be great if we could team up on this. Again, an initial effort to package it is evailable from my website. It is not an application itself, but rather a library suitable for embedding into an application. The Systems Biology Markup Language (SBML) is a machine-readable format for describing qualitative and quantitative models of biochemical networks. It can also be used to express the interactions of biochemical networks with other phenomena. By a ``biochemical network'', we mean a system consisting of biochemical entities linked by chemical reactions that alter, transport and/or transform the entities. Please keep me informed once the package is avalable at the Debian mirrors because I would like to update the dependencies of the Debian-Med packages. If you could give me a hint whether this package is apropriate for 1. med-bio-dev - Debian-Med packages for development of micro-biology applications 2. med-bio - Debian-Med micro-biology packages (I guess the first one) it would be appreciated. Kind regards Andreas.
