I'm seeing spurious suspends too, starting recently; I filed bug
#425411.

Yes, I can reproduce this both under the PPA version and under the
latest g-p-m in karmic (2.27.91-0ubuntu1).

[Bug 425411] [NEW] Computer suspends immediately after resuming

2009-09-06 Thread Phil Sung
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

(This is an up-to-date Karmic AMD64 on a Thinkpad X61s.)

Immediately after resuming from suspend, Ubuntu occasionally goes right
back into suspend. Subsequent attempts to resume are still successful.

This started a few weeks ago.

I have only noticed this happening when AC power is unplugged between
suspend and resume.

Re: [Bug 353826] Re: Thumbnails in Nautilus have the wrong orientation

2009-04-23 Thread Phil Sung
Actually, I think something funny is still going on here.

I found that when I import photos from my camera (just copying via
nautilus+gphoto; jaunty with latest updates), the thumbnails are
incorrectly rotated. But if I clear .thumbnails/normal, the thumbnails
subsequently generated are correct. Might nautilus be somehow
generating thumbnails differently in those two situations?

I made a new user and found that it does not have this problem. I guess
it is something about moving one's settings from a Gutsy setup. I've
gotten around this problem by deleting my Gnome dotfiles. Thanks, and

[Bug 173721] Gnome keyboard layout options (like remapping Caps Lock) are not reapplied after reboot

2007-12-03 Thread Phil Sung
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

In Hardy Alpha 1, Gnome's keyboard Layout Options control panel (found
on the Layouts tab of Keyboard Preferences) applies changes to the
current session, but these changes are not reapplied after I reboot or
logout/login again. This worked correctly on Gutsy.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Keyboard Preferences -> Layouts tab -> Layout options...
2. Under "Ctrl key position" choose "Make CapsLock an additional Ctrl"
3. Close the control panel and observe that CapsLock now acts as Ctrl
4. Reboot and log in again.
5. Observe that the setting change is no longer in effect (CapsLock does not
act as Ctrl). To restore it, I need to open up the Layout Options control panel
and choose that setting again, even though it already appears to be selected.

[Bug 116957] Epiphany auto-reload does not preserve scroll position

2007-05-25 Thread Phil Sung
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

Steps to reproduce:
1. In Epiphany, open a local HTML file which doesn't fit on one screen. Scroll
down.
2. Modify the HTML file in an editor. (Epiphany auto-reloads the page.)

What happens:
Epiphany scrolls the page back up to the top.

Expected:
The scroll position should be preserved, just like it is when I press "Reload"
in Epiphany or Firefox.

Version:
This appears in Epiphany 2.18.1 (Feisty).
