Re: [dba-dev] Thunderbird-Addressbook

Sigh.

I always though that those distro-habit of changing such a folder name
to something different is not a good idea, and only causing problems.

No, there is no mechanism for declaring a different path for looking for
the address books.

It would be possible, technically, but if at all, then I would only
implement this as configuration option. IMO, that's way too advanced for
the average user to be presented at the UI.

As always, fell free to submit an issue to ensure this request for
enhancement doesn't get lost, though I doubt the core team will put any
effort into this issue in the foreseeable future.

Thanks & Ciao
Frank

Actually they claim have released a 1.0 already ;-)

Alpha 1.0.1 - xx/xx/2008

With an ABI/API change in a *micro* release, and it seems they didn't
change SONAME. Not very promising. .oO ( mdbtools )

Some on there's a "preview" in the download package's name :)

And why does it have a 1_0_0 there then and the CHANGES talks about a 1.0.1
upcoming? ;)

You have to ask that question whoever decided at Sun that version
numbering starts with 1.0. Its not been me who made that decision :-)

As the change also involves the Calc formula compiler, parser, tokenizer
and stringizer, please do extensive testing in that area, for example by
loading, verifying, saving and then reloading and re-verifying again
your existing .odt spreadsheet documents. Don't forget to make backups
before ;-)

Thanks
