RE: connection of bearerbox with GSM modem
Hello Stipe, I'll put it down in points, yes I get the connection, but I'll explain where the problem is. 1) connect the gsm modem to usb port 2) start bearerbox to connect to modem at 115200 (speed set in conf file) 3) bearerbox fails to connect, because after opening port at that speed, at command fails 4) connect the modem through hyperterminal (Hilgraeve product, comes with win 2k) at 115200 5) disconnect the modem from hyperterminal 6) reconnect with the same configuration file from bearerbox, this time connection will succeed. This is not sporadic behaviour. I run through this process everytime I connect the gsm modem. I wanted to know if there are any workarounds for this. connection of bearerbox with GSM modem
Hello, I work with the cygwin installation of kannel on a win2k machine. I have a peculiar problem with the bearerbox. When I start bearerbox utility and try and connect to the modem, the speed in the conf file does not seem to match and the connection fails. But if I try to connect to the modem thru the HyperTerminal (developed by Hilgraeve for microsoft) to the modem with the same speed, the connection comes through correctly. Consequently if I try the bearerbox connection with the same conf file, the bearerbox is up and running fine. Any idea why this would happen? Best Regards Anu

ctrl+C with cygwin port of kannel
Hello, I am using the cygwin port of kannel. I wanted to know how to terminate the bearerbox application. The ctrl+c does not seem to reach teh signal handler of the bearerbox. Whereas, the smsbox is able to handle the termination interrupt correctly. Is this a problem only with the cygwin port? any help on this issue? Best Regards Anu
MMS over WAP
Hello, Has anyone ever heard of using MMS with a SMS alert to the receiver instead of the WAP push, and the response coming over CSD without WAP being enabled for that particular phone? What I need to know is for MMS is it absolutely essential that I have subscribed for a WAP connection with my service provider? Is there someway I can do away with WAP? Any help in this regard would be appreciated. Best Regards Anu
send sms http connection
Hello, I am using the cygwin port of Kannel. I have an application which uses the kannel sms push interface. This client creates a socket, with the right port ofcourse. This succeeds. When the application calls the connect for the socket, this also succeeds and kannel writes a message stating Creating HTTPClient for When the application calls 'send' on the same socket with the necessary text, immediately kannel shows, althought the socket itself does not throw any error. Destroying HTTPClient for I dont think the http client is wrong, i am able to get other web pages using my http client. Can anyone help me in this please?? Thank you and best regards Anu

RE: fix for accepting modem with baudrate 115200
Hello again Oded, I have no idea what is meant by a unified diff, but will do the best I can. Against the latest snapshot, the following code should be included at line 798 of gw\smsc_at2.c (this is after case 38400) The patch is as follows (it goes into function at2_set_speed(PrivAT2data *privdata, int bps)) case 115200: speed = B115200; break; I hope there are no objections to this patch. fix for accepting modem with baudrate 115200
Hello list, I have attached the file in which I had made a fix for accepting baudrate 115200. Hope this is the right fix to make. The fix is quite minor, just having to add 115200 in at2_set_speed function. Now, how is it I am supposed to proceed? ask for votes? Best Regards Anu smsc_at2.c Description: Binary data
RE: cygwin port of Kannel
Hi Arbel!!! Thanks for the quick reply. I initially tried with at2, but got the following error while running bearer box Unknown SMSC type 'at2' Failed to create Smsc wrapper Cannot start with SMSC connection failing The smsc part of the conf file looked like this group = smsc smsc = at2 modemtype = siemens-tc35 device = com1 Which is when I tried the older version, at, which succeeded so I left it that way. Am I using the older version of kannel port for win32, does anyone know where I can get the latest files for cygwin port? cygwin port of Kannel
Hello, I am trying to use the cygwin port of Kannel on an NT / 2K machine. I have a problem in using a GSM Modem (Siemens-tc35) as the SMSC. When I try to connect to the com port, the bearer box shuts down saying 2002-08-21 06:36:08 [0] ERROR: Failed to create Smsc wrapper 2002-08-21 06:36:08 [0] PANIC: Cannot start with SMSC connection failing Can anyone help me in this please? Also, although the user guide specifies that I can have a group called modems group = modems, the moment I add this line into the kannel.conf, the bearer box refuses to start. Any help / suggestions in this regard are welcome. Thank you very much and best rgds Anu <> kannel.conf Description: Binary data
