Title:
OneTime alarms are not automatically dismissed or delete after they
  are triggered

Status in the base for Ubuntu mobile products:
  Fix Released
Status in The Date and Time Indicator:
  Fix Released
Status in Clock application for Ubuntu devices:
  In Progress
Status in indicator-datetime package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released
Status in ubuntu-clock-app package in Ubuntu:
  New
Status in indicator-datetime package in Ubuntu RTM:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Steps to reproduce:
  1. Create a one time alarm to ring in a few minutes
  2. Let the alarm ring
  3. Dismiss the alarm

  What happens:
The OneTime alarm is still shown as enabled and as a result shows the wrong
status in the clock app. The alarm is no longer shown in the indicator-datetime.

  What should happen:
The OneTime alarm is either disabled or deleted from the alarm model.

The clock app cannot disable the alarm since most likely the clock app
is not even open at the time the alarm is triggered. Since the alarm
is no longer shown in the indicator-datetime, my intuition tells me
that indicator-datetime and EDS did its job. Its now up to the SDK
Alarms API to update the alarm model correctly.

If I have a missed call or sms that shows up in the indicator, it will
sometimes incorrect be displayed as "Yesterday" even though it happened
today. This happens if the missed call is anytime after 8pm local time.

I believe it's because the determination for that label is using UTC
time rather than converting to the local timezone. It should be
changed to use local time zone.

Status in indicator-sound package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Steps to reproduce:
  Open the volume appindicator.
Depress the left mouse button on the volume slider.
Exit the slider widget with the mouse button down.
Notice that if - with the button released, you mouse over the volume
indicator with any lateral motion - you affect the volume.

  Proposed solutions:
Less optimal - Mouse exit fires the change in state that happens if you
release the mouse-button in widget.
Less optimal because you may want to mouse out and drag over the widget
completely from right to left or left to right to quickly adjust volume with a
simple gesture.

More optimal - Connect all mouse-button-release events to the volume
slider callback and handle it gracefully if the mouse-down state was
  not already in play.

Volume slider UI broken: can stick to cursor after button release

Status in indicator-sound package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Steps to reproduce:
  - click on the volume indicator (top right of the screen) to make the volume
slider appear
  - click and drag the volume slider cursor and do not release the mouse button
(yet)
  - drag the volume all the way to the left and keep dragging a little further,
off the limit of the slider and beyond the little volume icon on the left BUT
remaining within the dark-grey rectangle that delimits the widget
  - release the mouse button
  - move the mouse away
  - move the mouse over the slider again but without pressing the button

Expected behavior: the same as if you had released the button while
the cursor was within the slider, or outside the widget completely:
when you release the button, the volume slider cursor should be
released and never move again until you click on the slider again.

  Observed:
  - when you move the mouse cursor over the slider area, the slider's cursor
sticks to the mouse cursor, as if you were dragging it again. It's being
dragged while the mouse cursor is not even pressed.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1354178] Re: volume slider UI broken: strange slow movements after moving the mouse off and on

2015-01-20 Thread Ted Gould
I can reproduce this, but it's going to be difficult to fix with the GTK
version of the indicators. Leaving it open for tracking, but I expect
the QML version won't have this issue as the event handling is very
different.

Title:
volume slider UI broken: strange slow movements after moving the mouse
  off and on

Status in indicator-sound package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
Steps to reproduce (it's a bit difficult):

  - start with the volume at a value somewhere near the middle; just to ease
testing.
  - click on the sound indicator
  - press the button over the volume slider handle as if to start dragging it
and keep the mouse button pressed
  - don't move the mouse horizontally, only vertically. If you move the mouse
horizontally (perhaps beyond a small "tolerance" of a few pixels) you won't
reproduce the issue
  - drag downwards, untill outside the volume widget. Do not release the mouse
button yet
  - now move horizontally (still keeping the mouse button pressed), for example
to the left. Now the volume slider doesn't move, which is expected (well
actually it should keep following mouse movements, but this is a minor issue
and it can be considered ok, in a kind of incomplete imitation of the
drag-too-far-cancels-interaction way certain UI elements work)
  - move the mouse cursor vertically upwards, so as to go back into the slider
area.

Expected: the slider handle should now jump to the position of the
mouse cursor and follow mouse movements, as it did at the beginning

Observed: the slider handle jumps to some apparently random position
which is somewhere midway between where it was and the mouse cursor.
As you move the mouse cursor to the left or to the right, the slider
handle moves too in the same direction, but much "slower", that is,
the slider handle movements reproduce mouse cursor movements on a much
smaller scale (linearly). Normally, when you hold the mouse cursor
still, the slider handle stays still too (there is a 1-1
correspondence between mouse horizontal position and slider handle
position, though at a non-1:1 scale). However, if you move the mouse
cursor off-end on one side or the other, then (and only in that case)
the slider handle will keep moving slowly towards the mouse cursor.

  All together it's complete nonsense.

Title:
Volume display does not update when changing default sink

Status in indicator-sound package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
On my laptop I often have two PulseAudio sinks, the on-board audio
  (alsa_output.pci-_00_1b.0.analog-stereo) and a Bluetooth speaker
(bluez_sink.8C_DE_52_2F_AF_F3). I can choose the default destination
for sound output using the "Sound" pane of System Settings, and I can
separately change the volume setting of each sink using the "paman"
application. When I adjust the volume using the sound menu, it
affects the default sink. However, when I change to a different
default sink, the sound menu does not update and continues displaying
the volume for the previously-selected sink. Only if I change the
volume setting for one of the sinks (e.g. using paman) does the sound
menu update to show the new volume level.

  To reproduce:

Find a system with more than one sound sink.

Launch paman and open the Properties window for each sink.

Also open the Sound pane of System Settings.

Set one sink to maximum volume and one to minumum.

Switch between outputs using Systems Settings, and note that the sound
menu does not update to match the different volume settings of the two
  sinks.

There are two issues in the datetime notification code that need to be
  changed.

  1. Right now we only set role=alarm if the sound is looping; ie if it's an
alarm clock event rather than calendar event.
Set calendar event role to alert

  2. Calendar events shouldn't play in silent mode. We can test for
silent mode on the bus, http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~phablet-team

  service/trunk/view/head:/libtelephonyservice/greetercontacts.cpp has

Often after boot indicator-sound fails to connect to Pulseaudio and to
unity-notifications using libnotify. Therefore, volume notifications
aren't shown and changes to the volume role go unnoticed, which then
  results in improper volume control.

As already mentioned in the original bug description, running "restart
  indicator-sound" resolves the issue.

  Original description:

Happens often after phone boot where changing volume by touch or by

  org.freedesktop.Notifications popup isn't displayed.

The problem seems fixes itself if you run "restart indicator-sound",
so maybe there's an issue with i-sound and unity-notifications
starting at the same time, with the former querying the latter's
capabilities before it's ready for business?

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1412779] [NEW] After removing all messages, the indicator icon is still white, not grey

2015-01-20 Thread Niklas Wenzel
Public bug reported:

How to reproduce:

1) When notifications are displayed, remove all of them either by
swiping each notification or by pressing the 'clear' button.

What I expected to happen:

The indicator icon should be grey now and when the screen is turned off,
the LED should not blink.

What happened:

The indicator icon is still white and the LED blinks when the phone's
screen is turned off.

This is quite bad since it means that the LED is consuming power all he
time.

I use my phone to play music on random while I'm driving. This works
great except when I want to advance or pause the song, where I have to
go through the greeter first to access the player. This can either
take my attention away from driving or I need to wait until the next
stop light to advance the song. This is less of a concern when the
greeter can just be swiped with one gesture, but is a big concern if
you enable the passcode lock where you have to add the passcode to
  access the player.

If the music is playing, the greeter should allow rudimentary
manipulation of the music, eg, pause/play and forward/back. Other
platforms seem to allow for this (eg android).

i.e. if there's two reminders for the same time, sound will play for
both (bug #1340248), but the two notifications will be shown one after
  another.

This is a UX regression in my opinion, even if it fixes bug #1320880.

There is actually no clear design for this, I'm afraid,

To me it seems important to have consistency. Though of course we know

I don't know if added "Switch to Workspace X" options is considered a

[Dx-packages] [Bug 935750] Re: [scopes] Search field not common to lenses

2015-01-20 Thread Olga Kemmet
** Summary changed:

- Search field not common to lenses
+ [scopes] Search field not common to lenses

** Description changed:

After typing in the home lens's search field and seeing no results, I
figured I was using the wrong lens so I switched to another one. Because
the search field is specific to the lens, I had to retype my search
  terms.

I didn't realize until I started this report that the home lens search
would search all the lenses. (Or, I'm assuming that's what it does now,
based on a different search which produced results.)

+ UPDATE: This is a bug for the desktop, Unity7.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1311316] Re: After locking screen there is no input field to type password for unlock

2015-01-20 Thread Pablo Catalina
I have the same problem. It happens randomly.

My environment when the problem appears:
* 2 screens, the problem normally affects both monitors, but sometimes the
input box for the password appears on one of the monitors... it is random.
* 1 session (I only have one user)
* normally I have a rdesktop session opened when the problem happends.

$ unity --version
unity 7.2.3

$ dpkg -l unity
[...]
ii unity
7.2.3+14.04.20140826-0ubuntu1 amd64 Interface
designed for efficiency of space and interaction.

I'm going to update to "Landing PPA 004". I'll comment in the next days if the
problems is fixed or not.

Title:
After locking screen there is no input field to type password for
  unlock

Status in Unity:
  Fix Committed
Status in Unity 7.2 series:
  In Progress
Status in unity package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  *** IMPORTANT **

*** The fix is not included in TRUSTY. Will be included with next SRU.
  ***

If you can reproduce this bug please be sure to provide the following info:
  1. Do you use a multi-head setup? If yes, using just one monitor fixes the
issue?
  2. Can you reproduce all the time?
  3. Do you use ldap? If yes, using gnome-screensaver fix the issue (see
comment #115) can you still reproduce that?
  4. Please consider posting /var/log/auth.log (at least part of it, should not
contain sensitive information)
  5. Please specify the unity version
  *** END IMPORTANT **

Sometimes (but not always) after locking the screen there is the
situation not having any input field where I can type the password to
unlock the session again. The shaded gray area simply does not have
the input field. I can't do anything, I have to switch to text console
and stop/start lightdm service to cure the problem loosing all of my
  session :(
