[Dx-packages] [Bug 1489205] [NEW] ctrl+alt+left+up desktop switching doesn't work
Public bug reported: I filed a new bug as requested in Bug #1108342 ctrl+alt+ works for up, down, left, right, up+right, down+left, down+right. It does not work for up+left. When I filed 1108342 I mentioned that this behaviour used to work in 12.04 LTS. I no longer have an easy way to boot 12.04 LTS on this hardware to verify that it did work, but that's the most logical release for me to have installed on this machine when it was brand new. How do I test for the possible lack of hardware support for ctrl+alt+up+left? Symptoms : At times, especially when system is under heavy CPU load (which can be noticed by the fact that the current window becomes "dark"), windows borders and Unity top bar and/or laucher starts blinking/flashing in rectangular shape, in a very speedy and ugly way. Usually things resume to normal after some seconds or tens of seconds, when CPU load goes back to normal. This didn't happpen previously, so this is a regression. As far as I can tell, I have started noticing this after the time where Mesa broke Intel graphics then was fixed again (during Beta 1), so this bug might well relate to Mesa. No, I'm not. I remember that issue. Sorry folks, as part of the bug clean up effort before 16.04 I'm marking this as invalid again as the bug title concerns 12.10 which is out of support. If you can still reproduce this on a supported release please open a new bug. ** Changed in: unity Status: Confirmed => Invalid ** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1487826] Re: upgrade 14.04 to 14.10 audio is not working
Unfortunately 14.10 is no longer supported. Please try 15.04 for the latest release, or 14.04 for the LTS. If you still have the same problem please open a new bug. This fault is unlikely to be a Unity bug though, more likely it could be an issue with drivers, ALSA, PulseAudio, etc. ** Changed in: unity Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. (unless made visible in greeter screen, then visible on Desktop This is all well & good, maybe some intentional aesthetics/design (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=687791) , however sometimes the cursor never becomes visible. In that case hitting some keys or context menu can cause it to show, though most times a log out is needed. (with the removal of ctrl+alt+delete > log out this means most users will need to either blindly find the session indicator or hit power button. When the g-s-d cursor plugin is disabled then the cursor is always visible, it the plugin has no use in an ubuntu session then maybe it should be default disabled There is also the possibility, particularly on ssd drives, of a login with no session indicator. Icons show normal on my laptop, and also the icons of the window switcher (alt+tab) display as expected. I am using the Numix Circle icon theme (https://github.com/numixproject/numix-icon-theme-circle). As the window switcher shows the icons normally, the theme uses scaleable icons, and non-numix icons are affected too, I suspect it has not anything to do with the theme. Matching subscriptions: dx-packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1485208 Title: Unity should listen for gestures but allow other applications to handle gestures as well Status in ginn: New Status in Unity: New Status in unity package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: When installing a gesture handling application such as ginn, Unity should allow the application to also receive gesture details so that native gestures aren't the only ones which can be handled. I believe this is related to a bug in ginn (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ginn/+bug/985121). The workaround to make ginn subscribe to gestures is to recompile the unity package after commenting out the initialization of gesture handling in Unity. The problem, of course is that the native gestures which provide drag handles for touch screen users are no longer available making window management difficult. Allowing some pass- through of gesture handling would enable additional touch screen gestures to be handled without the loss of the native gestures in Unity. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1364647] Re: Can't hear clock alarm when headphones are plugged in but not in your ears
We can fix this in the network indicator to have it query the current audio device and add the internal speaker if it is not current. This should allow us to play the alarm tone on both. per diwic 1) pa_context_get_server_info and then pa_server_info->default_sink_name gives you the sink 2) then call pa_context_get_sink_info_by_name for that sink and see if pa_sink_info->active_port is set 3) if so use active_port->name (and active_port->description for a human-readable name) 4) if not, just use sink->name and sink->description change active port to "output-speaker" for the card named "droid_card.primary" Or to both if possible, there is also a "output- speaker+wired_headphone" port There is existing code that is similar for the dialer to set the port and a QML wrapper -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to indicator-datetime in Ubuntu.
