[Dx-packages] [Bug 1702187] Re: wrongly shipping /usr/locale/da/LC_MESSAGES/unity-lens-applications.mo
The original report only emphasizes that the relevant file(s) should be shipped by language-pack-whatever instead. It does not emphasize enough that "/usr/locale" is the wrong place to put it anyway, it should go under "/usr/share/locale". (I've modified the bug title accordingly.) I don't particularly care about unity-lens-foo not finding the Danish translation. I don't know what this app is and I can't speak Danish :-P What I do care about, however, is that these misplaced files break my old habit of typing (and pressing the [TAB] key) "cd /usr/lo[TAB]sh[TAB]" to take me to "/usr/local/share". Autocompletion no longer completes to "local/" with the trailing slash since "locale" is another possibility. ** Also affects: unity-lens-files (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to unity-lens-applications in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1702187 Title: wrongly shipping /usr/locale/da/LC_MESSAGES/unity-lens-applications.mo Status in unity-lens-applications package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in unity-lens-files package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: unity-lens-applications is apparently wrongly shipping /usr/locale/da/LC_MESSAGES/unity-lens-applications.mo This is the only translation file (.mo) shipped by unity-lens-applications. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1628649] [NEW] Date and time are too far away from each other
Public bug reported: In Yakkety beta the date and time were moved farther away from each other than before. There's now an about 15px space between them on my machine, whereas the gap between all other symbols is usually 12px. Date and time are the two pieces of information that are logically the closest to each other, hence having a larger space between them than between irrelevant icons is really disturbing to my eyes. I understand that it deserves a bigger space than a simple space character (as between the day of week, month and day), but it shouldn't be bigger than the gap between let's say wifi strenght and kbd layout, or between the time and the poweroff symbol etc. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.10 Package: indicator-datetime 15.10+16.10.20160820.1-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.8.0-17.19-generic 4.8.0-rc7 Uname: Linux 4.8.0-17-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.3-0ubuntu7 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Wed Sep 28 20:56:44 2016 InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-05-30 (1582 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120425) SourcePackage: indicator-datetime UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to yakkety on 2016-09-23 (5 days ago) ** Affects: indicator-datetime (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug yakkety -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to indicator-datetime in Ubuntu. I understand that it deserves a bigger space than a simple space character (as between the day of week, month and day), but it shouldn't be bigger than the gap between let's say wifi strenght and kbd layout, or between the time and the poweroff symbol etc. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.10 Package: indicator-datetime 15.10+16.10.20160820.1-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.8.0-17.19-generic 4.8.0-rc7 Uname: Linux 4.8.0-17-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.3-0ubuntu7 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Wed Sep 28 20:56:44 2016 InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-05-30 (1582 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120425) SourcePackage: indicator-datetime UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to yakkety on 2016-09-23 (5 days ago) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-datetime/+bug/1628649/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~dx-packages Post to : dx-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~dx-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1452007] [NEW] Should not scroll on Alt+Click
Public bug reported: Alt+Click on the big handlebar of overlay scrollbar. Expected result: Nothing should happen, apart from bringing the window to the foreground and preferably even grabbing it for move. The contents inside the window should be left intact. Actual result: It scrolls the content, just as if I clicked on the scrollbar without Alt. Rationale: Alt+Click is commonly bound on all kinds of Linux desktops/WMs to raise and move the given window. If it has any side effect, e.g. mangles the content (even if it just scrolls away from the desired location), I can no longer safely use this shortcut quickly and efficiently. It should not have any other side effect, e.g. Alt+Click on an X button (either the WM decoration's close button, or a close button on a Gtk+ tab) or any other UI element doesn't perform that element's action either. This behavior has been the standard on pretty much every desktop environment I've seen under Linux for the last almost 20 years since I've using it (beginning with fvwm, but as far as I recall, even twm behaves this way). The correct behavior of Alt+Click would be to bring the window to the foreground in the exact same state it was when it was lowered or covered by another window, and not to alter the application's state in any way, not even when I happen to Alt+Click over the overlay scrollbar. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1436120] [NEW] Faulty transparency in Gtk+ "About" dialog due to overlay scrollbar
Public bug reported: Open the Help->About dialog of a Gtk+ app, e.g. gnome-terminal, gedit, evince... Some text appears over the default gray background. Click on the Credits or License button. New text appears on white. Now click on this button again to close the info that just appeared. Expected behivior: The initial look of the About dialog should be restored. Actual behavior: The foreground text is there, but the background becomes black (Utopic) or transparent (Vivid beta). If the dialog is closed and opened again, it'll be faulty right away for the rest of the app's lifetime. You have to restart the application to make it show correctly again. Tested both with Gnome-shell and Unity; and both with Adwaita and Ambiance. In case of gnome-terminal, both with and without the unofficial transparency patch. LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=0 makes the bug go away. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1319530] [NEW] Menu hotkey changes not reflected
Public bug reported: Start gnome-terminal (version 3.6.2 in Trusty). Under Edit->Keyboard Shortcuts change one of the shortcuts that's shown in the menu (e.g. change Normal Size from Ctrl+0 to Ctrl+1). Notice that the menu (gnome-terminal's View->Normal Size menu entry) still shows the old value, Ctrl+0. This hotkey no longer works, the new version is in effect. But you have to close the window and open a new gnome-terminal window for the menu to update. The bug is specific to the Unity menu at the top of the desktop. If gnome-terminal is started with UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=0 (or under a different window manager), the shortcut in the menu is updated immediately. gnome-terminal 3.12 got some heavy refactoring around its menu and hotkeys (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=728121), yet, the same problem persists. So I really suspect it's a bug in Unity's app menu, rather than gnome-terminal. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1240251] Re: Does not open with "today", can't jump there
It keeps confusing me all the time, too, even though I'm also aware of the issue. Since altering the month or year doesn't change the day, often today's day number is highlighted. This, along with today's date being shown at the top, very easily leads to the misbelief that the current month's calendar is being shown, which is not necessarily the case. It's terribly misleading. (In the mean time, I understand that keeping the year/month during closure and reopening of the dropdown might be considered a feature useful for many people.) Furthermore, there's no option to jump to today, I have to manually walk to the current year and month. My suggestion is a "Today" button, with clearly distinguisable disabled state if it's already today's month being shown. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1238626] Re: flickers when changing the date
Sometimes (especially if I double click on a day number) there's a back and forth highlighting with the current day. E.g. today is the 16th. I highlight the 11th. Then I double click on 18th. There's an 18->16->18 flicker. If I walk to a different month, for the duration of the flicker the whole calendar layout is briefly repainted to show today's calendar, and then goes back to the desired y/m/d. Matching subscriptions: dx-packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1240251 Title: Does not open with "today", can't jump there Status in “indicator-datetime” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: When clicking on the date/time, the dropdown window contains the year/month/day I visited there previously. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1240253] [NEW] Clicking on current full date or "Add event" does nothing
Public bug reported: I click on the date&time widget. A dropdown appears. The topmost row contains today's full date, e.g. "Wednesday, 16 October 2013". On mouseover it is highlighted, and on clicking it disappears. Hence I assume it's a menu entry intended to do something. There's also an "Add event...". Neither of these two do anything for me. Not even an error message. They should at least give me a popup telling which packages I need to install for these two to work. This patch fixes the bug for me. [Dx-packages] [Bug 827380] Re: scroll bar disappears when switching tabs
For some reason, calling os_bar_show() doesn't not seem to work from hijacked_scrollbar_map(). [Dx-packages] [Bug 827380] Re: scroll bar disappears when switching tabs
This is indeed a bug in overlay-scrollbar. When the adjustment changes, the OS_STATE_FULLSIZE flag is updated accordingly and os_bar_show() or os_bar_hide() is invoked as necessary. However... - the flag is not computed initially, nor when mapping the window; - the flag is set when unmapping the window, which doesn't make sense since a subsequent adjustment will update it again There's already a "FIXME(Cimi)" in adjustment_changed_cb() which seems to be relevant. ** Package changed: gnome-terminal (Ubuntu) => overlay-scrollbar (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to overlay-scrollbar in Ubuntu.
