Re: [Elecraft] K3: glitch canceling CW using 'KY @'

2010-11-06 Thread Tom, DL2RUM

Just send "RX;". This will cancel the transmission and works in all modes.

Re: [Elecraft] Data Modes Software for Mac

2010-04-28 Thread Tom, DL2RUM

RUMlog can interface with the K3 now via the CAT only for RTTY operation. An
Audio interface is not required. The K3 needs the latest (Beta) firmware -
MCU 3.94 or better

[Elecraft] [K3] Another KY command bug?

2010-01-06 Thread Tom, DL2RUM

When sending CW using the KY command, there are sometimes problems to
interrupt the transmission correct. Sending "KY @;" will cancel the
transmission, but sometimes the sidetone will not stop. The sidetone remains
steady on, but the trcvr does switch to RX. This is better reproducible at
lower speeds (<20wpm)

I'm using FW 3.68 and confirmed the behavior with the K3 Utility. Just try
"KY 000;" followed by "KY @"

[Elecraft] [K3] KY command: internal buffer size?

2009-12-17 Thread Tom, DL2RUM

Hello,

I want to know how big the internal CW (or RTTY) buffer is, when using the
KY command. The KY command can include 24 characters, but I guess the
internal buffer is bigger than 24 characters.
How many characters can I send safely, when the extended KY command returned
0 (buffer<75% full)?

74 & Thanks de

Hi,

unfortunately I can't test this new amazing feature, since there is no Mac
version of the new K3 Utility application available. Please don't forget the

[Elecraft] [K3] FW 3.44 unusual behaviour when changing RTTY tones

When changing the RTTY tones using the Pitch button (while in FSK-D mode) the
s-meter shows a full deflection after ca. 5 seconds. This does not happen is
CW
Is there any reason for that?

Re: [Elecraft] [K3] K3 KY command and RTTY

2009-09-29 Thread Tom, DL2RUM

I could send only one command for the text to send, but then there is no way
to interrupt the the transmission. It seems the ˆD don't clear the buffer
and stops sending immediately.
In this way the KY command is useless for me in RTTY. My idea was to add
direct FSK output in my Dx-ped logger.

[Elecraft] [K3] K3 KY command and RTTY

2009-09-28 Thread Tom, DL2RUM

Hi,

I'm not quite sure if the following a bug under 3.30:
Mode is set to Data FSK D
When sending text to the TRX using the KY command, the text will be sent out
and after that the signal is idling (didles) a while before the K3 switchs
to RX. That's okay.
But when sending the next KY command during this idling time, the
transmission changes to an unmodulated carrier, without didles. It takes few
seconds before the next text will be send out.

Any suggestions?

I don't know N1MM, but to cancel the DVR you have to tab the REC key. While
in K31 mode, you have to send SWT37;

I hope this helps.
