Re: [Evergreen-general] Phone notification solutions

2022-05-17 Thread Rogan Hamby via Evergreen-general
I can't speak from the end user perspective but I have done a setup of
iTivia from the side of getting the notification data to them and that part
was pretty painless. The rest may be painless as well but it was an
existing iTivia system so I wasn't present for initial setup.

2022-05-17 Thread Frasur, Ruth via Evergreen-general
Well, I’m pretty open. Full disclosure – we’re investigating i-tiva right now,
and they do offer this added functionality. Our current provider (and this is
me having never dealt with any of this before), Indiana Telephone, is
deprecating their T1 and [insert some other technological word here] service.
It sounds like we’re going to have to run some new physical wiring along with
our prices going up. So, at this point, I’m looking for anything that
Evergreen libraries have implemented – good, bad, and maybe less attractive
than super attractive.

Hi Ruth,

Just a quick qualifying question. Are we talking about notifications only or
are you also looking for a system that people can call in to and interact with
(renewals, check accounts, etc...) ?

Evergreen Indiana is investigating telephony solutions to replace our
long-serving asterisk server. In particular, I'm wondering if any of you have
implemented some type of VoIP solution or maybe something I've never heard of

[Evergreen-general] SQL for Librarians: Pre-Conference

2022-05-17 Thread Rogan Hamby via Evergreen-general
As many of you know, at least those that have looked at the conference
schedule, I am once again doing a SQL pre-conference this year, SQL for
Librarians. Past iterations of this have focused on teaching basic SQL
skills but this year the focus is a bit different. I would like to collect
SQL tasks from attendees and look at them to show how these tasks can be
addressed. So, feel free to contact me off list and share any questions or
roadblocks you have encountered during SQL projects and they might make it
into the session!

Thanks in advance,

Re: [Evergreen-general] Evergreen/EDS integrations

Hi Ruth,

We also have sites that integrate with EDS. We do MARC exports and
then they use REST for real time availability.

Hope that helps,

Jennifer

I know of at least four systems that supply Evergreen holdings to
EDS. The mechanisms used to date are periodic MARC exports to EBSCO
and Z39.50 lookup by EDS to get current item status.

Examples include University of Prince Edward Island, Berklee College
