2009-08-10 Thread Jerry Belloit
I am doing well. I am learning how to do things one-handed. I have been
planning a fishing trip to Alaska since early spring and I leave Thursday. I
was racking my brain trying to figure out how I might land a 100 lb.+ halibut
but I found a fishing harness that will let me fish with one arm. The doctor
wasn’t thrilled but he said I could go as long as I agreed to “supervise” if my
hand started hurting. I am not sure how the harness will work when we switch
to salmon, however.

Sorry for the typos. I have had my left hand in a cast since July 4 and I

hours of surgery later they were reattached and working again…but it will still

Pres and Ed's. was that the little shack-looking place with drive through

My ex-mother in law lived down that cross street (NE 5th Ave).

Speaking of The Sovereign, I got a notice via e-mail just the other day,
that Chef Elmo died in a motorcycle accident. I've never eaten there, but
I'd heard of him before.

I recall the Sovereign doing a completely different menu one night a week.

IIRC, the chef/owner's wife (Lupé?) was Central or South American, and
that night she cooked traditional fare from her childhood.

It was always a little trippy to be eating a tortilla, surrounded by the
Soveriegn's country French ambience (and gourmet French winelist).

I always figured The Park was why God made antibiotics.

Speaking of Gvile area restaurants, The Yearling always had special meaning for
us. It's where our (my husband and I) parents met for the first time, and we've
celebrated many special occasions there over the years. We didn't make it by
last year but hoping for an opportunity this season.
