gEDA-user: Running fedora core 7, want to install gSpiceUI

2007-07-18 Thread Robert Butts

I am a new Linux user using Fedora core 7 and I would like to install
gSpiceUI.

I have downloaded gspiceui-v0.8.90 from sourceForge.com and tried to follow
the instructions but it referenced directories not on my system. I have
only been able to find links about problems with an installer in fc4 and
gspiceui faults.

If someone knows how to install gspiceui or where I can get directions I
would appreciate it greatly.

Thanks!

Nope. Try it. "gnetlist -g geda" is a good way to get a reasonably
readable netlist.

gEDA-user: slots and multiple power connections

2007-07-18 Thread Duncan Drennan
I couldn't find anything in the wiki about how the power connections
of multiple slots are handled from a netlist perspective.

Do the power pins on each slot have to be connected, or is it fine to
just connect the power pins on the first slot? e.g. quad_opamp-1 with
11 and 4 as power pins - do 11 and 4 have to be connected for each
slot of the component?

Thanks,
Duncan

This looks like the recommended work flow. Maybe the tutorial should be
changed accordingly. Or is there a any reason not to guide newbies along
this way?

You may want to post a simple schematic that demonstrates the problem.

Re: gEDA-user: schematic hierarchy netlist problem

2007-07-18 Thread Peter Baxendale
I don't know where the U?-? comes from. It's not in any of the
schematics, just in the netlist produced by gsch2pcb. Every net that
connects to one of the io symbols ends in a U?-?. The line I quoted
should only have 3 nodes, the extra U?-? looks to be entirely spurious.
I should have said, I'm using the gschem 1.0.1-20070626 release.
