[gentoo-user] Problems with IDE CDRecorder in external USB Case
Hi, I got an external USB Case to connect IDE Devices via USB. I wanted to install by IDE DVD/CD-Recorder into this case. It is registered sucessfully, /proc/scsi/scsi says: Host: scsi2 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00 Vendor: TOSHIBA Model: DVD-ROM SD-R5002 Rev: 1M31 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 But it doesnt really work :( When I try to write a cdr with cdrecord, I get input/output errors. Under MSWindows it seems to work, but that doesnt help PS. It works fine when connected via IDE of the mainboard. Any help would be great ;) Florian -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
[gentoo-user] init script dependency problem (hotplug before crypto-loop beforelocalmount)
Hi, I have an encrypted filesystem on my USB-Memorystick, which I want to mount at boottime at /usb. So I need the following startup order: ... modules hotplug crypto-loop localmount ... I have problems with the init dependency system. I added "crypto-loop" and "hotplug" to boot runlevel and also tried to adjust depend() functions of hotplug, crypto-loop, localmount ... for over an hour now. I simply don' t get it to start this way. Can anyone help me how to do this? Florian -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
[gentoo-user] Which Cryptoloop Cipher should I use?
Dear Community, I would like to encrypt some of my file systems and use cryptoloop. I am wondering which of the available ciphers would be the best proportion of speed/security. Greetings Florian -- Florian Dittmer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
