i tried adding it to that file, rebooted & it has been loaded,
so we'll see when i next want to write a CD ... (grateful smile)

HI,

AFAIK the files /etc/modules.autoload.d/* contain the modules to load,
if the system boots with one of the kernels mentioned there. I.E. the
modules loaded at boot time.
