As a boy of about 12, I went to see a movie in that house at the Aldona tinto opposite Dr Carlos's house. Sat on a bench. It was in one of the rooms of the house itself. Hot and airless enough to make one faint. Unique experience. It was a time when we did not have electricity in village homes. They probably had a generator - high tech stuff for us!

As usual, Domnic's encyclopaedic memory of recent Goan history never fails
to amaze me. That was a wonderfully informative piece on Movie Theatres in
the Bardez area.

But I think there was an error.

Dominic mentions "JANATA Talkies" in Aldona. I don't recall any such
theatre but I do know that movies were shown to the public in 'Teacher'
Margaret's house opposite the motorcycle pilot stand near the 'triangle'.
