प्रसिद्धी पत्रक कोंकणीतील जेश्ठ कार्यकर्ते श्री पंढरीनाथ शणै लोटलेकार स्मृतिदना निमीत्त कोंकणी भाषा मंडळ व कॅनपी आजूर यांनी चित्रप्रदर्शनाचे आयोजन केले असून, हे प्रदर्शन आज (दि. 2 सप्टेंबर) रोजी कोंकणी भवन येथे सकाळी 9 वाजता सुरू होणार आहे. कोंकणीतील जेश्ठ कार्यकर्ते डॉ. राजेंद्र हेगडे यांच्या हस्ते या प्रदर्शनाचे उद्घाटन करण्यात येईल. या वेळी मंडळाचे पदाधिकारी व लोटलेकार यांचे कुटूंबीय उपस्थित असतील. 2 सप्टेंबर 2015 हे स्वर्गीय लोटलेकार यांचे शताब्दी वर्ष असून ह्या निमीत्त मंडळाने 30 ऑगस्ट रोजी एक चित्रकार्यशाळेचे आयोजन केले होते. कॅनपी आजुर ह्या संस्थेच्या संस्थापिका व स्वर्गीय लोटलेकार यांच्या कन्या इंदिरा पै आंगलो यांनी या वेळी उपस्थितांना मार्गदर्शन केले. सुमारे 30 चित्रकारांनी या कार्यशाळेंत भाग घेतला. ह्याच चित्रकारांच्या कलाकृती आज प्रेक्षकांना अनुभवता येतील. स्वर्गीय पंढरीनाथ लोटलेकार यांचा जन्म 2 सप्टेंबर 1915 रोजी कळगुंट येथे झाला. लग्न झाल्यानंतर ते मडगांव येथे स्थायीक झाले. ते वेवसायाने वकील होते व त्यांनी इस्क्रीवांव म्हणून नोकरी केली. राष्ट्रमत या वृत्तपत्रांत त्यांनी 'पौणी शणै' या नावाने समाजीक विशयावर लिखाण केले. आपल्या मायभाशेवर त्यांनी सदैव प्रेम केले. तिला हक्काची जागा मिळवून देण्यासाठी ते सदैव कार्यरत राहिले. कोंकणी भाषा मंडळ या संस्थेला स्वताची हक्काची इमारत मिळावी म्हणून त्यांनी आपली जागा दान केली. 1 नोव्हेंबर 2004 ह्या दिवशी त्यांचे निधन झाले. त्यांच्या जन्मशताब्दी निमीत्त आयोजीत केलेल्या ह्या चित्रप्रदर्शनाला सर्वांनी उपस्थित रहावे असे आवाहन आयोजकांनी केले आहे.

PRESS RELEASE Sagarika Prabhugaonkar of Rosary Higher Secondary, Navelim won the first place at the Radha Mukund Naik all Goa inter higher secondary elocution competition organised by Konkani Bhasha Mandal. The second place was bagged by Vandita Kamat of S. S. Angle Higher Secondary, Mashem Cancona whereas Soniya Morajkar of Rosary Higher Secondary, Navelim won the third place. Palash Agni of Chowgule Higher Secondary, Margao and Riya Vaz of Guardian Angel Higher Secondary School, Curchorem won the consolation prizes. The students put forth their views on the topics Goenchya heeta khaatir- pradeshik paksh kaay rashtriy paksh? Social Media- Shwas kaay Traas? And Aayacho tarnato aatmkendrit jaala? The competition was judges by Pradip Kakodkar, Sohan sanvordekar and Sushila Mendes. Noted Social activist Mohandas Lolyekar was the chief guest on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion, he lamented on the sorry state of affairs in the education system. “Education has today become a business. Those tuition classes or schools who take the credit for the success of its few students should also take the blame for the failure of others", he said. "It is time when educationists take a call on the state of affairs and address their concerns in public”, he said while addressing the participants. President of Konkani Bhasha Mandal Chetan Acharya welcomed the gathering. Judges Pradip Kakodkar and Sohan Sanvordekar expressed their views. Coordinator of the competition Anant Agni proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by Vallabh Barve. PRESS NOTE The Konkani Bhasha Mandal and other organisations in Goa have strongly objected to the government decision of relaxing the clause of compulsory knowledge of Konkani in certain Government jobs. In a press statement issued here today, the KBM has charged the government of giving backdoor entry to outsiders by giving relaxation in the clause. It may be noted that for super-specialty jobs, the clause was as it is relaxed and there was no need to further relax it. The KBM has expressed its fear that any government jobs could be termed as 'Super specialty' in view of the failure of the government to define 'Super specialty'. Citing the recent case of the Goa University wherein a non konkani speaking person was accommodated for one of the posts where several konkani speaking candidates were available, the KBM and other organisations have expressed its fear that this trend may be continued in other government organisations. These organisations have urged the government to cancel the relaxation granted by a cabinet decision and take a decision on case to case basis while filling the vacancies. Even after filling such vacancies with a non konkani speaking candidate, such a candidate should be compelled to undergo training in konkani language during the probation period and the services may be regularized only after such training is certified by Official language department says the press note. Charging the government of cheating the Goan electorate first on the medium of instruction issue and now on the relaxation granted in jobs, these organisations have warned that the people of Goa will give this government a fitting reply in the ensuing elections if it fails to retract on its position.
