You might check whether your *x supports the "extended format" of the TZ environment variable: TZ=CST6CDT,M3.2.0,M11.1.0 This specifies, in the "extension", that DST begins on the second occurrence of the 0th day of the week (Sunday) in the third month, and ends on the first occurrence of the 0th day of the week in the 11th month. This is also the "workaround" suggested by IBM for z/OS UNIX. -jc- -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
Re: SAP using DB2 and Daylight Savings Time
Our SAP basis team will shut down the AIX application connection at 1:45 AM Sunday, and reconnect at 3:15 AM. The application will tolerate only something like a five minute difference in timers I don't know what they do to set their clocks on the application server boxes, but at 2 AM we will have automation issue SET CLOCK=3.00.00 on the z/OS LPARS (no sysplex timer, just one CEC). SAP using DB2 and Daylight Savings Time
This has been an ongoing discussion in the company even before the change in dates for DST. From what I am understanding, we are having problems getting the Unix/AIX Servers to change time automatically and be in synch with the z/OS and DB2 hosts. I am looking for SAP users who also use DB2. How do you accomplish your time change? We are currently running LOCAL = UTC + Offset. I know on the mainframe side we are going to change the time at the Sysplex Timers. Done it for may years now at different accounts. None that have used SAP however. Where I am ignorant is the AIX/Unix Servers. How do you accomplish this time change? I am going to cross post this to the DB2-L list as well. ___ Jim Petersen MVS - Lead Systems Engineer Home Depot Technology Center 1300 Park Center Drive, Austin, TX 78753 www.homedepot.com email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 512-977-2615 direct 512-977-2930 fax 210-859-9887 cell This message may contain confidential information.
