I had someone give me on older flat panel imac 15 inch computer today. I want to give it to someone else but it does not have any wireless and I feel most people will want wireless. What is an expensive way to get this puppy online. thanks Laura -- You received this message because you are a member of the iMac Group, a group for those using Apple iMacs and eMacs. Re: worth of used imac
thanks John. 2 summers ago I upgraded the fan, the hard drive (to a 500gb) the ram (to 2gb), an added airport card and the optical drive, knowing full well I would never get the money back.(It was kind of a trip taking it all apart too!) But I can't really see selling less than $500. Not looking good on the sites I am looking at . Oh well, I guess I will just keep it! I was hoping to get some cash to buy the pretty new BIG imac. Re: tv shows skip and pause?
Bruce you said "Laura, look in the Console at the system messages, see if there are errors being reported at the time you're slowing down. " can you explain how to do that more fully? Re: tv shows skip and pause?
Bruce, I did do a pram reset and I also did disk utility from external drive. There was one small minor error but it is fixed and still stuttering. I am going to look thru some of my older tv shows and see if they stutter at all, it seems like I remember Lost doing it too. Sometimes the video stops all together and the audio continues on. I guess it was always and I am just noticing it more lately so I am not sure if its some program or software related thing. I will download Memtest and check that out. I will also check console. thanks for the ideas... Oh and how do I check the temperature? tv shows skip and pause?
Hi All, As you can see by my below specs my imac is pretty maxed out. Lately I have been having problems watching tv shows in itunes. For a few minutes its fine, then eventually the cpu starts maxing out and the video kind of slows down - sound is still there. I pause it, wait a minute then it works fine for like 5 or 10 minutes, then it maxes out again. I am running no other programs. Any ideas would be appreciated. thanks laura drew 2 GB RAM, updated dvd drive, fan, 500 gb hard drive Flat Panel iMac, G4, 1 GHz hard drive is half full --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to Low End Mac's iMac List, a group for those using G3, G4, G5, and Intel Core iMacs as well as Apple eMacs.
