Haha, thats where i got the battery for my iMac too, albeit a Summer 2000 DV model. I got the batteries for the PowerMacs at RadioShack and when i went to get one for the iMac they were out, so i ran over to there, they are in fact cheaper. Back on topic though, unless the school district that originally owned my iMac replaced the battery, it still has the factory battery. -- You received this message because you are a member of the iMac Group, a group for those using Apple iMacs and eMacs. With any luck, you have the same problem I had shortly after buying a new (old) 333 slot load: there's a small battery inside that just flatout died. About $10 at Battery Plus (where you should bring the old battery to confirm it is in fact dead). Yoou will have to open the machines case and use care- there are instructions on the internet (and probably here at LEM too). Good luck On 2/26/10 8:31 AM, deadpsyc...@gmail.com wrote: So I just bought a rev. B (I think) tray loading iMac it was working wonderfully all night until I shut it down and moved it upstairs. The first iMacs are great 'first macs' but really do better on OS9. Also, if you get a new hard dive for it DO NOT use a 7200rpm one, they generate too much heat for the poor things! -- You received this message because you are a member of the iMac Group, a group for those using Apple iMacs and eMacs. I got it to start by resetting the pmu. Worked like a charm. Now I have a new question what are some of the upgrades available for this machine? Also what is the best os for this? I'm thinking either 10.3 or 10.2? Thanks! Re: My iMac quit working?
Did you check the outlet to make sure it was hot? or maybe it is controlled by a switch on the wall? On Feb 26, 2010, at 8:31 AM, deadpsyc...@gmail.com wrote: So I just bought a rev.
