Thanks Bruce. Now I've got to go find a "cheap" pair of them somewhere...

I believe that there were a few variants produced by Apple over the years;
however the only ones I've ever seen didn't have anything over the speakers.
Maybe knock-offs?

(ISTR once upon a time even seeing a cheap knockoff of the orginal iMac 'Hockey
puck' mouse with two buttons for PC use…hey at least it was computer-related,
unlike the iVaccuum

 , the iRon, and the
iGrill
 all
back from the sdays when all restaurants were Taco Bell and all appliances were
translucent teal and white :-)

iMac G4 "eyeball" speakers

2013-03-12 Thread D. Fabel
I was recently given a 17" G4 iMac. It's a cute little machine, but didn't
come with any speakers. I'm see that speakers abound on eBay, but I'm noticing
some of them seem to have clear plastic grills with 3 large holes over the
front of the speaker.

Now I'm curious. Was this how they were manufactured and most speakers have
had them break or lost over the years or was this an aftermarket option?

Thanks,
