Sudah free kok dari dulu. Cuman kalo support, ya kudu punya maintenance 
contract.
Security patch juga free. Tapi feature patch, tidak.

Sebenarnya keinginan saya untuk mencoba Solaris, karena :

Halo all ... Pertanyaan dasar nih ? Butuh keyakinan nih dari rekan-rekan.

1. Umur variable memory yang dibuat oleh javascript pada browser hanya sampai 
ketika pengguna
mereload atau mengakses halaman lainnya ?
2. Jadi untuk web 2.0 variable memorynya tetep di browser selama halaman 
utamanya belum
terubah ? [refresh/akses url baru]
3. Apabila suatu link script setelah terloading dihapus apakah mempengaruhi 
keberadaan suatu
variable atau function didalamnya ? [ikut terhapus]
4. Hal-hal diatas apakah berlaku pada semua browser ?

Sebetulnya kudu dilihat dulu aplikasi servernya itu apa dan capacity 
planningnya ada di level apa. Kemudian RAS (Reliabiliy, Availability, 
Serviceability) factornya juga.

Solaris shines kalau :
a. Memakai hardware dari Sun, baik UltraSPARC ataupun AMD64 hardware. 
Release berikutnya support Intel Core 2 Duo dan saudaranya (lup namanya, 
yang dari Xeon), semuanya support in kernel virtualization.  Dengan 
memakai Sun hardware, banyak feature set dari hardware Sun yang bisa 
di-exploit. Hal yang sama kalau anda beli hardware Fujitsu APL lines, 
karena mereka juga running Solaris SPARC. Banyak hardware yang bisa di 
replace secara online, ataupun Fault Detection dan Fault Isolation, 
ataupun Self Healing yg membutuhkan kerja sama OS dan hardware, sehingga 
mempertinggi RAS factor.
b. Anda butuh system yang vertically scalable, dari single processor 
sampai 144 cores. Karena dari mesin kecil ke mesin besar tersebut 
running OS yg sama. Di lain pihak Linux dan xBSD belum terbukti scalable 
untuk di atas 8CPU/cores. Jadi otomatis memudahkan anda untuk scaling 
vertically. Just dump more CPU, RAM and I/O. bayangkan juga anda di 
posisi software developer, running dengan mesin dual processor murah 
sekitar Us$3000, tapi bisa menjualnya ke enterprise client dengan 144 
cores, value addnya besar sekali.
c. Adanya vendor certification untuk aplikasi server kelas Enterprise, 
misalkan dari IBM, Oracle, SAP, Veritas, Amdoc, etc. Otomatis kalau ada 
problem, bisa mengharapkan para vendor software ikut urun rembug, juga 
ada keyakinan ketika membeli software tanpa perlu coba sendiri.
d. Solaris 10 punya kemampuan zoning, walaupun sama dengan jail-nya xBSD 
ataupun chroot Linux, tapi dia memiliki command line yang simple, atau 
mau di manage dengan GUI Container Manager. Kemampuan lain yg jail dan 
chroot tidak punya adalah kemampuan Resource Management. Kita bisa 
allocating sekian CPU, RAM, network bandwith, serta assigment untuk disk 
I/O path. Ini penting kalau kita mau consolidate banyak services ke 
dalam single OS image. Mungkin nanti ada yang bilang solusi full 
virtualization seperti VMWare lebih powerfull. Memang kalau mau deploy 
different OS image dalam satu hardware VMWare solusinya. Tapi VMware 
punya kelemahan kalau dia boros resource, tidak menguntungkan kalau 
kebetulan yang mau dideploy itu cuman service instance yang bisa running 
dalam OS image yang sama tapi butuh higher secure partitioning. Di sini 
zones/jail/chroot lebih cocok. DAn sekali lagi, Resource Management-nya 
itu menyenangkan.
e. Solaris punya support life yang lama, dari pengalaman paling tidak 10 
tahun
f. Solaris punya in-kernel clustering feature dengan pseudo Real Time 
interrupt level, lebih robust dari solusi clustering di userland seperti 
Oracle Clusterware, Veritas Cluster, etc.
g. Solaris punya ZFS, dengan kemampuan handling petabyte storage, grow 
and shrink file system dengan mudah, dan in-built protection RAID dalam 
file system.

Solaris sucks kalau :
a. Butuh OS image yang mean lean untuk aplikasi minimal, OS footprint 
Solaris terlalu besar
b. Butuh dekstop, karena Gnome yang dipakai versi butut
c. Servernya hanya membutuhkan 2-4 CPU, karena Linux dan xBSD lebih 
efficient untuk ini
d. Butuh user facing peripheral seperti USB toys, digicam connection, 
USB modem, karena yg beginian dicuekin oleh Sun, bukan target marketnya
e. Butuh driver buat legacy hardware, karena biasanya berbentuk module, 
bukan built into kernel, karena kernel dijaga tetap modular (BSD style), 
jadi otomatis kalo kernelnya baru, belum tentu driver lama bisa jalan juga
f. Butuh driver buat new hardware, karena yg beginian dicuekin oleh Sun, 
bukan target marketnya

Saya sendiri mempelajari Solaris dan enterprise Unix lainnya seperti 
HP-UX, IRIX dan AIX karena masalah value add saja. dibandingkan dengan 
belajar Linux atau xBSD, dengan waktu yang sama untuk belajar, 
mendapatkan service contract dengan $$$ yang lebih besar =D

Gmn ya caranya agar ada form login untuk masuk ke postfixadmin/admin ?

Saya sudah lakukan :

Tetapi ketika saya akses ke http://mail.domainku.com/postfixadmin/admin
Kok ndak ada form loginnya ya? Langsung masuk ke menu2 admin (Admin List,
Domain List, Virtual List...)

Cara disable ada koq di menu Control Panel. Anda cukup buka Control
panel Win Vista dan cari icon yg bernama Windows Defender. Disitu
ada settingannya untuk disable koq. Atau ketika anda install SAV versi
10.2 untuk pertama kali, maka program instalasi SAV akan meminta
anda untuk disable Win Defender. Sesudah itu tinggal pilih next2 saja.
Otomatis untuk selanjutnya Win Defender akan didisable dan tdk akan
enable lagi.

Yah wajar aja kalo virusnya udah nempel ama windows ya jelas ga bisa 
dihapus. Kalau mau hapus gunakan anti virus dos, coba cari di Google 
antivirus yang bisa dijalankan dari dos. Kalau saya sih, jika keadannya 
darurat (windows sudah kena) saya gunakan antivirus F-Prot scan dari 
dos. Semoga bermanfaat

SUdah baca pedoman dari gmail untuk setup POP Mail belum, kalau belum, 
silakan baca dulu. Ikuti petunjuknya, apa ngenetnya pake proxy kalau 
memang pake program proxy (wingate,proxy+,dll) mesti ada aturan 
tambahannya. Coba check bagian helpnya.

Cari apa nama drivernya, download dulu program untuk mencari tahu nama 
driver di Internet. Contoh programnya adalah AIDA32, Sysinfo, Unknown 
Device Identifier, dll. Setelah itu baru cari drivernya di Internet 
kayaknya situs Open Driver bagus juga. Semoga membantu

Saya pernah ada di posisi bapak

Waktu itu langkah saya, saya install OS di HDD lain... lalu HDD yg
rusak tsb dijadikan slave/secondary HDD.
Di OS saya, saya jalankan OnTrack Easy Recovery
saya scan HDD yg rusak tsb... tunggu beberapa jam akhirnya "kelihatan"
datanya di beberapa partisi, lalu untuk recovernya kira2 habis
12jaman...
Data yg terecover kira2 95% akurat, 5%nya ada doc yg nama filenya
berubah, file mp3 yang tiba-tiba 2 lagu jadi satu... dlsb.

Saran saya, jangan diformat dulu, apalagi langsung diinstall OS di HDD
yg rusak tersebut.

Atau bisa juga pake antamedia hotspot.
Program billing antamedia hotspot ini sudah berbasis windows.
Fiturnya juga sangat komplit..plit...plit
Bisa buat voucher, limit bandwith, sampe sistem pasca bayar...paten dah

Hanya saja kemarin saya nyobainnya bentar aja, trus butuh aplikasi third
party buat sharing koneksi internetnya
Coba di gabung ama winroute, interface web buat ngisis username dan
passwordnya ngak muncul2x

Barangkali rekan2x disini ada yang pernah nyobain pake antamedia hotspot dan
udah jalan, bagi2x juga donk caranya.:)

Ok Bro,

Kayaknya dulu gw juga pernah ngalamin hal spt ini, sempat frustasi empat
hari, ee ternyata masalahnya ada di password yang dimasukkan,

Coba create user password dengan kombinasi huruf besar dan huruf kecil,
contoh : "ProDesign" atau "Prodesign"  tanpa pake tanda petik yaa.

Kalo anda pake huruf kecil semua ga' bisa tuch..,

Semoga membantu, mungkin ada pendapat ITers yang laen.

gw ada masalah dengan Window Server 2003, mengapa saat gw create user
account pada Active Directory,
tidak berhasil saat diakhiri dengan meng-klik finish 
messege yang ada adalah "Windows cannot set the password for..dst",
seperti yang gw lampirkan pada attachment,
udah gw coba mengutak atik sana sini seperti pada Administrative tools
yaitu
"Domain Controller Security Policy" dan "Domain Security Policy", gw setting
Minimum password length", "password must meet complexity requirements"
hasilnya nihil 0 Besar, dari messege tersebut tertulis juga "password
history requirement", nah yang ini yg gw ga tau dimana settingnya,mungkinkah
karena yang satu ini ?
atau kemungkinan besr hal yang lainnya yakkk... mohon bantuannya apa kira2
solusinya
