benar mas,
yg saya maksud belum sampai HPC Cluster tapi masih di no.2 Paralel cluster
(tapi bukankah ini jg bisa dibilang HPC mas?).
hmmm untuk data service yg akan di cluster ini hanya bisa salah satunya atau
bisa lebih dari satu, database server dan web server.

Wah kebetulan lagi saya masih mempelajari RAC ini mas, share yah mas please.
Dan saya pikir pengetahuan ini adalah hal yg berharga bg ITers yg lain,
karena kedepannya mungkin akan lebih mengarah ke sini yah utk performance
server 24hours/day. Server proc xeon kan udh kejangkau.:)

Boleh dijelaskan gak mas, apa yg mesti diperhatikan dr hardware yg support
utk hal ini sampai tahap implementasinya step by step.

ma'af mau nanya, ada yg sdh pernah implementasi clustering pake Linux gak?
yg ditanyakan, menggunakan aplikasi apa aja (spt yg punya fujitsu
primecluster) dan hardwarenya apa aja. Kesulitannya gimana (khabarnya
tingkat kesulitannya berkali2 lipat dr instalasi biasa).
dan apa yg mesti dperhatikan dsb. thanks

sama aja mas, sdh diupdate firmwarenya masih tetap tidak mau tuh.
sdh ngobrol/chat juga dgn tech support head officenya. tetap juga tdk
terpecahkan.

kalo gak mau yg rumit2 ADSL merk aztech bisa jadi pilihan karena dia
otomatis akan terkoneksi jk sdh di set user + passnya.

hmm, menarik mas.
karena mendengar fibre channel aja udah kebayang speednya hehehe, cuma cost
utk infrastruktur SAN (Storage-Area Network) ini yg mungkin msh rada besar,
yah mas. belum termasuk hardware pendukung, switch dan router utk
menjebatani SAN.
Tapi karena SAN sifatnya data centric, akan lebih kerasa effectnya bg
company yg memerlukan akses cepat ke server, banking dll. yg sifatnya
customer service
Dan SAN memang masih lebih baik di banding NAS (*Network-Attached Storage ),
*karena SAN terpisah dr LAN, utk menghindari trafficnya yg tinggi  &
bottleneck.

Jadi inget Novell, malahan menurut saya selain UNIX, Novell masih lebih baik
dr windows utk case NAS & SAN. karena Novell pun connectable/support dgn
Native File Access Protocols dr OS yg populer (UNIX/Linux, windows, MacOs)..

tapi anehnya kenapa windows yg lebih populer yah hehehe, tapi utk interface
dan user friendly masih windows yg bagus, itu aja.

sebenarnya blackberry udh ada lumayan lama, cuma baru di implementasikan di
indo, saya taunya malah dr e-mail2 masuk dr bos2 di LN(europe), di headernya
atau dimana ada text by blackberry ..., hmmm mirip ke revolusi pdaphone yg
dr sms bisa receive dan send email gitu kali yah. tapi nokia 9300 dan 9500
udah bisa pake blackberry kayaknya. mungkin bisnisnya handphone kedepan
lebih mengarah ke atah ini, full mobile hehehe

jika boardnya gak support PC133, coba dulu di update biosnya dgn versi
terakhir. untuk beberapa kasus PC Branded, ini bisa jadi salah satu solusi.
karena beberapa board yg lama blm bisa kerja dgn PC133 jika tdk diupdate
biosnya.

h, bisa jadi. Tapi dgn Visipro 64mb pc100 bisa jalan normal nih.
mungkinkah dr versi biosnya? karena bios revision Dell ada beberapa, cuma
gak tau yg mana yg bisa mengenali ke PC133. Karena ada beberapa temen juga
bilang bisa pake PC133.

boleh tau, apakah PC yg mas Albert upgrade memorynya itu branded atau
rakitan.
kalo utk rakitan saya pikir jg spt itu Mas, lebih compatible dgn semua
hardware yg lain.
yg saya coba upgrade itu dell (optiplex GX110). bener2 ditolak gitu, saya
biarkan beberapa menit kemudian saya cabut, SDRAMnya itu panas.
Saya pake SDRAM V-gen.

hapus semua partisi, kalo utk partisi Linux, pilih delete partisi yg non dos

untuk Speedy yang unlimited biasanya dapat IP, jadi lebih mudah
maintenancenya dari pada DHCP dr telkom.cuma costnya lebih tinggi, kalo
corporate biasanya sama aja pemakaian bandwith yg limited juga bisa sampai
ke cost yg unlimited, jadi mendingan pake speedy yg unlimited aja

beruntung pernah ketemu bentuknya monitor yg dibelakangnya ada port utk UTP

 Ada yg punya contoh konfigurasi untuk Modem ADSL Globespan GL7900 atau
Linksys 4 port.
udah jungkir balik nih settingnya gak mau juga. yang globespan GL7900 sudah
mau konek ke telkom (sdh dapat IPnya) cuma masih gak bisa browsing/internet,
kalo di ping misal www.yahoo.com , IP yahoonya udah
keliatan cuma destination unreachable. masalahnya ada dimana yah kira2, tapi
kalo di coba pake modemnya telkom koq bisa jalan.
