Untuk memeriksa Remote Control, sangat mudah.
Gunakan kamera digital, apakah yang memang khusus kamera digital, ataupun
kamera digitalnya handphone.
Setelah batere baru dipasang, arahkan remote ke lensa kamera dan tekan salah
satu tombol remote control dan periksa apakah ada sinar berkedip-kedip di
layar kamera digital atau handphone.
Kalau semua tombol tidak ada yang membuatnya menyala, berarti remote
controlnya mati total. Bongkar dan periksa dari koneksi batere yang tidak
terhubung atau ada jalur yang putus, perbaiki. Kalau tidak ada yang tidak
terhubung dan tidak ada jalur putus, periksa LED Infra Rednya dengan Ohm
meter, kalau ternyata bagus, berarti ICnya rusak dan biasanya tinggal
dibuang saja.
Kalau hanya sebagian tombol yang tidak berfungsi, itu artinya ada jalur PCB
yang putus, perbaiki. Sistim koneksi tombol remote control, sama seperti
sistim koneksi keyboard yang berbentuk matrix, yang kalau satu jalur input
atau outputnya putus, maka beberapa tombol akan tidak berfungsi. Bongkar
dan periksa jalur-jalurnya.
Kalau semua tombol menyala dan respons dari TV Tuner tidak ada, bisa
dikarenakan sensor remote control di TV Tunernya rusak atau bisa juga remote
control yang diberikan toko, salah model.
Ada cara lain, kalau ada teman yang mempunyai remote control yang modelnya
persis sama, maka bisa membeli remote control universal learnable, misalnya
merek Chung Hop, SRM-330E, yang harganya saat saya beli melalui internet
165rb, setelah saya cari di Glodok dan ada, ternyata harganya hanya 30rb an.
Kemudian data remote control aslinya di rekamkan ke remote control universal
learnable tersebut. Malahan remote itu bisa meng learn 4 macam peralatan.
