Hal ini berlaku JIKA Server kantor tersebut tidak terkoneksi dengan Daerah Regional Office (kantor cabang) atau dengan kata lain kantor tersebut mempunyai network yang berdiri sendiri. Adapun Prosedure mematikan server adalah: 1. Matikan server yang tidak berhubungan dengan server yang tidak berhubungan dengan database. 2. Server Database 3. Terakhir Domain Controller. 4. Untuk menghidupkan kembali jika listrik sudah menyala: Server yang harus menyala pertama kali adalah server Domain Controller dan diikuti Server Database baru server lainnya. Adapun Server yang harus tetap menyala adalah: 1. Domain Controller (menjaga supaya network tetap terkoneksi dan untuk replicate system/ data antar server pusat ke cabang) 2. DataBase Server (Untuk menjaga data tetap bisa di update di Server database) 3. Perangkat hardware Komunikasi seperti Cisco, Router dll. Server tersebut harus tetap menyala bagaimanapun caranya.. Kalau akibat listrik mati, AC juga mati, lampu juga mati, berarti tidak ada yang bisa kerja, yang lebih baik servernya segera di down saja. Kalau server harus tetap digunakan, karena masih ada pekerjaan penting yang masih dilakukan oleh salah workstation, yah segera selesaikan sampai waktu sebelum UPS workstation berakhir. Kalau masih juga diperlukan, yah minta bos membeli generator untuk menggantikan listrik sementara. Gini rek, Kalo mati listrik, client di kantor juga kan mati listrik. Jadi nggak perlu backup sampai 6 jam misalnya. Tetapi yang perlu diperhatikan adalah proses shutdown pada server. Buat system yang kira-kira seperti ini : - Semua server di handle oleh UPS - Jika listrik mati, maka server akan shutdown secara otomatis setelah sekian waktu (1/2 jam misalnya) - Jika listrik nyala kembali, maka server otomatis akan nyala kembali dengan sendirinya Jadi, down server secara tiba-tiba bisa dihindari, walaupum tidak ada orang. Tinggal pilih brand UPS yang bisa support system seperti ini. Yang pasti sih mas Invaleed, adalah server yang dikatakan mempunya i transaksi online lebih di prioritaskan, yakni server database dan server mail, karena ditakutkan ada transaksi yang terpending ketika dan sebelum listrik di UPS itu mati, lebih baik sih di backup databasenya. tapi sebaiknya jangan dadakan juga untuk proses backupnya, tetapi lebih pake planning untuk databasenya. Jadi jangan ketika mo mati baru di backup, tapi setiap harinya dibackup.Soalnya saya pernah punya pengalaman di server Lotus Domino, yang hancur databasenya, gara2 listrik mati. Kalo untuk server dns, proxy, web, Antivirus dan yang lainnya lebih baik dimatikan saja sebelum UPSnya habis...?? so sepertinya akan baik2 aja tuh server...
