halo bung viper...
sama saja bung...mau XP dulu ato W2k dulu nggak masalah...yang penting
partition magic anda berjalan normal di XP...kemudian buat partition
baru...trus pilih 'Install new o/s'.biasanya yang jadi masalah untuk
membuat partition system adalah ukuran cluster dan boundary recycle untuk
system...yang susah biasanya pada tahap initapi sekali anda bisa membuat
partition ini selanjutnya nggak akan ada masalah untuk penambahan o/s

I understood the circumstance faced by both of you.
My thought is
Try use Windows 98 Bootable CD, go to FDISK and delete
any partition appears there (WinXP will be shown as
Non-FAT Partition or even Unknown Partition), then
from there Re-Boot ur Compie, go back to that FDISK,
create a New Primary Partition by using FAT32, Re-Boot
it again.

ThusFirst Thing FirstInstall Windows 98 to a
Newly Created PartitionJust Click
NextNext...da..da...da.da...till you got all
Things Installed Properly.

Afterwards, you guys can simply Install Windows 2000
Pro where you will be given an Option to Choose
between Converting into an NTFS or stick with
FAT32...Choose NTFS insteadclick
Next...Next...fill up every Pop Up Windows as
necessary

When its finished...there you go...Cool Banana

NOTE: It Works for Me, But It Doesn't Mean That It
Will Work for Both of You As Well.

i do understand, maybe your OS first time you install W2K then XP. In that
case should be no problem, but my situation isreversed one. Already have XP
with NTFS and i want to install W2K, and thats the problem, I also already
tried the Partition Magic 8.0. Its working, but... when I want to install
W2K, still have the problem. First time i suspected that the W2K
installation CD was broken, so i install it to other PC, and its working.

So my notebook already been format for a couple of time, but still cannot
install W2K only XP.

seagate soft. dll setau saya paling lengkap dan canggih hanya partition
magic(versi 8), bahkan komp. saya pakai multi o/s,(FAT32, NTFS for

tambah partion juga sangat mudah, dia juga menerapkan hide and unhide

kalo anda format n install os baru ke drive C,
maka tidak akan ada masalah terhadap drive D anda (data tidak akan
terganggu)
Saya sering gonta ganti OS, n data2 saya tetap aman koq...
